If I want to eat vegetables, I'll eat vegetables and if I want to eat meat I'll eat meat...not some kind of insanely processed soy patty. Hell, I would give up meat entirely before I would eat one of those chemical nightmares.

Here's an in-depth view of the overall process, it's not really a chemical nightmare at all.

The ingredients in Impossible Burgers are simple and free of any toxic additives, flavorings or artificial ingredients.

I've eaten artificial beef before. It's actually pretty hard to tell the difference.

I'm not a big fan of beef (unless it's mince in spaghetti or pies), so artificial burgers sounds like a great plus.

Meatless burgers are nasty as I had one once before. Give a bacon cheeseburger any day of the week. People seem to forget that humans are omnivores.

I like to consume meat myself. That being said I find the science behind the meatless burgers such as the Impossible Burger fascinating. I like meat, I like its taste, I like its texture..... and if someone came along and could give me meat of the same quality and caliber that did not involve killing the animal to get it, I have no issue with that.
Such heroic nonsense!

I'm a vegetarian in a country where there are a lot of vegetarians (especially among the rich, who are astronomically more likely to eat burgers) and we've had vegetarian burgers made out of potatoes, cottage cheese, and probably hundreds of other things for decades. I don't see what the fuss is.

That said, I feel that these meat substitutes are dumb — if people don't want to eat meat for ethical reasons or whatever, why should they want the taste of meat, but actually made of bean curd and other weird chemicals?

Well, God DID allow us to eat meat, but in the Old Testament he forbid the Israelites from eating certain food.
I looked into it and saw four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, reptiles and birds. Then I heard a voice telling me, ‘Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.’
“I replied, ‘Surely not, Lord! Nothing impure or unclean has ever entered my mouth.’

"The voice spoke from heaven a second time, ‘Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.’ This happened three times, and then it was all pulled up to heaven again.

Acts 11:6-11

Well from now here verses, we may conclude that now God has made clean all animals. I'm not a genius in the Bible, but anyways.

Yes. Through the natural evolutionary and breeding processes that God intended and used Himself. EVERY crop and EVERY livestock are genetically modified organisms. Breeding desirable traits in plants and animals is entirely different from actually restructuring DNA itself.

Gene therapy- that is, repairing defective genes to normal human function -is the ONLY acceptable means to edit DNA. To create DNA or, God forbid, create life is evil.

Meatless burgers are just a very "primitive" example of this. While not directly tied to genetic engineering, the idea of spawning... whatever it is that's in meatless burgers is the danger.
Remember, it's not like we're taking livestock muscle tissue and using it to synthesize real meat in a sleazy way.

This thing is entirely artificial. I don't even know if it uses natural ingrediants at all...
