But why in biology class?

It would be better in a history class.

How is Creationism relevant to history class outside of, say, providing context for the Scopes Trial?
If it's kept out of schools, it's likely that children are forced to believe one thing without having a choice.

Why are schools the place for religious beliefs?

Teach it at home or place of worship. School is neither. If they go to public school, subscribe to the curriculum.

Or change the curriculum.

There is absolutely no value in teaching children pseudoscience. It only harms them and society. If they are determined to put themselves through the necessary religious brainwashing, they are free to do so, but not on the taxpayer dollar.

If they're not taught that creationism exists, they won't understand what many Christians believe, or they will believe that it's true later.

Because creationism is objectively wrong and has no place in an educational system. It's not even something "many" Christians believe, it's almost entirely restricted to American Evangelicals.

As part of studying religions, it would be appropriate. But it's not only American Evangelicals.

is creationsim useful knowledge? no.

it is one of the many things that might be forced on students,
too many others still are,
that waste then time of anyone pursuing useful knowledge of how anything works.

knowledge useful for creating and exploring ourselves.
creating with our own hands and minds being what makes us sapient,
and together with exploring where gratification comes from,
and with imagination where joy in life does.

science is never purfect, but belief cannot be proven to be anything more nor other, then personal taste.

there are many other subjects that there is a great deal wrong with how they are taught as well, or in some cases even why.

economics and politics are each less then half a science, which combined still makes less then a whole.

engineering, technology, art; the crafts of creative expression and design, and science are useful subjects.
not that anyone should be held back from exploring where their curiousity leads,

but rather not held back from doing so, by useless distractions being required of them.

logic is what harm cannot be avoided without, universally mutual consideration is what tyranny cannot be avoided without,
imagination is what there is no joy in life without, and honesty is what there is only ignorance without.

band instruments have more place in school then gym socks and jock straps,
and microscopes and computers, more place then the grande fiats of name brand flavors of beliefs.
truth isn't what i say. isn't what you say. isn't what anybody says. truth is what is there, when no one is saying anything.

"economic freedom" is "the cake"
=^^=

If it is mentioned, it should not be tought as fact, and since many aspects of it are scientifically disproven, the teacher should debunk it in the classroom.
