Air Force landlord falsified records to boost income, documents show

Shoddy if not dangerous military housing has been a long standing problem ever since they were privatized, but this Reuters investigation reveals that it was the result of outright fraud, where among other things two sets of books were kept- one an outright lie to con the Air Force on the conditions and work done on housing- and maintenance was welched to maximize profit.

The fuckers need to have their contract revoked and be sued into extinction. And maybe the military housing needs to be militarized again. What say you?

Yes. Bringing Private Contractors into the mix was never a good idea in the first place.

No, sorry, we need the money we save from privatizing military housing to go to funding the military.

It's a disaster with prisons, and it's definitely a disaster with military housing.

If its reasonably well run its much cheaper and faster to use outside contractors to do housing. That said this clearly isnt the case here. I would like to see a criminal investigation of this and that investigation should include the air force personnel in charge of inspecting the contractors work

That is an oxymoron. Privatization typically costs more.

They should lose their contract, and someone should go to prison.

Assuming they were incompetent or corrupt and not treated to a Potemkin pageant.

where have you been under a rock? anyways I feel like another two departments should be created 1 in the military and 1 outside of the military both would watch over how contracts are given to builders to construct military housing.
