Maybe I'm just not in with the times, but if the idea of an "incel" is that one can't get any sex despite wanting it, then I have a hard time believing that it can be a thing. Given the fact that it is legal (or at least very easy in most places) to pay for sex, then I don’t think they can state they can’t get sex, if that's all they want.

In most countries, prostitution is illegal and because sex inherently requires two people, well- people who don't play well with others have quite a problem if their default lifestyle is to be alone. Masturbation, they can at least do themselves for the most part.

So far as I can tell, prostitution is one of those things that isn't inherently good or bad, because its so controversial- different places constantly debate the merits of it and switch back and forth between the extremes of legalizing it or outlawing it, or doing something in between like decriminalizing or making it legal only for the seller and etc. Whether prostitution is legal or not, it seems human trafficking keeps being a thing.

I find the NoFap idea to be a noble one, personally. Ascetic self-control and focusing one's energy on physical and mental self-improvement is a great cause, much better than the oversexed nature of society which lead to the incel perdicament in the first place.

Incels woes are partially due to the social pressure to have sex and the perception of celibacy as "uncool" or that it somehow makes one inept. Then as a result the incels, seeing other people having sex and their lack of it leads to them having a victim mentality "when will it be my turn, when will I have mine, I deserve sex.". Not saying their approach is correct, but there is a profound role that society's sexual mores (or rather lack thereof) have played in the formation of people like the incels.

I can sympathize with some of that, but I think it should be more in the middle. I don't think becoming overly-prudish and disapproving anything in society and the media perceived by some as even remotely suggestive will do anything good either.

Honestly, there are literally billions of people in this world who lack a fraction of the material wealth of the incels and are quite frankly far less appealing physically due to the consequences of hard physical labor, malnutrition and disease.
