You know, I think most people would disagree, and I’m probably about to yelled at for all of eternity, but I think that this is an okay idea, if there were designated defecation places. I know this is sort of not what OP was talking about, but I think that public defecation on its own isn’t the bad thing, it’s public defecation in cities and settled areas. If designated defecation zones were made in cities, it would be fine by me, as long there was thought put into its location.

This may just be because I happen to live near a place where there’s lots of poop lying around, and not all of it is necessarily from animals.

"public indecency" is opinion and society-based. many societies actually practice this and no legal actions is taken. many societies do not percieve this as sexual harassment as mother showing their breasts in public for breastfeeding is not sexual harassment either.

Even within the limitations of nature, it would be pretty hard to maintain. People would have to literally hire crap scoopers, which is humiliating, and they likely couldn't meet the quota of scooping before the neighborhood park is overfilled and children can't even play on the playground and old ladies can't even feed the ducks. This in retrospect will severely limit the rights of other people to do as they please, to go where they want, to spend time with who they want, to hold events or assemble wherever they want without standing in sh*t.

Therefore, the effects of this proposal if it hypothetically succeeded would limit more rights than they would grant to people.

it would never be a widespread phenomenon thought what people fail to consider. do you really think if the government legalized public defecation in the open, everyone would abandon toilets? it is only for specific purposes and in nature where it would decay, so no scoopers needed. even if they were needed, tons of people would be willing to do it for a job. it is like ppl saying prostitutes or garbage men are humiliating, they chose their job, it isn't really, they want it.

But from what I seen, OP (thread master) is very unique a free thinker that not be limited by norms. He opened a thread for universal co-ed toilet and about faeces. Speaking about freedom may be if it isn't cause any disturbance to others or environment then nobody would care. If you are defecating in deep forest may be just you that know that things. just for the legal right, because it causes no harm, because dignity is personal - if you don't like it, don't look as with several many other things. if you're drunk, sometimes you can do it accidentally and people are ruined for life as sex offenders, legalizing it would prevent that. several more reasons, and me disproving the counters of other people can be seen above.
