What’s your reasoning behind that? I’m curious, because the Bible doesn’t and shouldn’t hurt anyone emotionally, and no one is forcing you to read it. Plus they are being supplied for free, and hotel managers hate to reject a free offer, unless they will do some harm to their business and the guests.

Religion should be a private matter and therefore not not forced one anyone. For the record evangelization should be illegal. If you have to bother people to join your religion instead of having people seek out your religion then it’s nobody’s fault that your religion CTEs

No ons’s forcing you to read the Bible, and the Gideons isn’t forcing anyone to join them or be a Christian. It’s just there in case you’re curious or someone forgot to bring one and needed to read the Bible, and their online bibles are down because they have to charge their phones. What I consider ‘forcing your religion’ is forcing the person to bring home the Bible, or show some proof they’re reading it, or have a note that comes with it saying to the guests, please read.

But they’re not even preaching to you, it’s just there for some reason and they don’t expect you to read it.

How exactly does placing a holy book in a hotel room for anyone who might want it forcing religion onto someone?
I do be tired

What? That is not what he is doing. He´s just pointing out that a bible simply being in a room hurts no one.

It’s evangelization. The people who put the books there would have a freak fest if a Muslim or Jewish Group did the same. They’d claim they where forcing their religion on them. All I’m doing is saying that you can’t put any in

It's a nice and quaint tradition, and in North America (Where Christianity is predominant and even actively-practicing people are oft-encountered) it's just convenient. I am nonreligious, but I don't have a problem with it.

I don’t give a shit. Evangelization should be illegal anyway. Religion is like a penis, it’s fine to have one just don’t whip it out in front of everyone

I don't think they'd care tbh. I don't think they even particularly care what happens to the bibles themselves.

That does not explain how simply putting a bible or any holy book in an hotel room is forcing a religion onto someone.

He is saying that people cannot have negative feelings when they see a Bible. Which is, of course, nonsense considering the history of christianity.

For some, evangelization is a tenet of their faith. And an exercise of their freedom of religion. I get you don’t care about it but come on.

Shouldn’t and doesn’t hurt anyone. But in his/her defence... I am pointing out what should and shouldn’t hurt anyone, because I’m saying the Bible shouldn’t hurt anyone when it could...

But that’s my opinion, like mentioned. It’s not universal law nor do I have any rights to decide.

Because most of the time the people who do it don’t ask for permission and just put Bibles there. I don’t want a bible where I’m just trying to relax. It’s annoying.

And like I said before it’s evangelization. Which is basically the act of waving your dick in everyone’s face. Some of us don’t want to see the damn dick

I was wondering the same thing. Now if the owner would lock the door behind you and not let leave unless you converted to their faith, it would be a different matter.
