This is true, but knowing that those have been on hundreds, maybe thousands of other people's bare bodies is enough for me to bring my own towels when I have to stay in a hotel more than a night.

It’s truly disgusting. Imagine those towels are crispy. You don’t just take anything you see. You gotta see how dirty it is.

In the hotels that I have stayed at, I do not remember seeing a Bible anywhere in the hotel room, and I live in Canada, so... I don't really have an opinion on the matter.

Oh sure, Gideons leave a Bible and everyone says they're great and nice people.

Why have a physical copy of one religious book when there are many religions and the hotel likely has wifi to access any religious book for free in many translations (not just 1600s English which the majority of Bibles left by such groups are)? It should be all or nothing-have no access to a religious book provided or have access to any religious book in any translation provided (basically have an ebook reader with this).

Also, the Bibles placed there are often just the New Testament plus Psalms/Proverbs, and rarely (if ever) include the Apocryphal or Deuterocanonical books.

The two Masons (and the two Shriners) I know are very devout mainstream Protestant Christians (although they do have some additional beliefs usually uncommon in their denomination...).

Historically, yes.

That's sort of fallen by the wayside for much of society. Now we're just at the center of 90% of all conspiracy theories, which is better than the Anti-Masonry movement.

I wonder what the reaction would be if Masonic Bibles/Torahs/Qurans started appearing in hotel rooms, though.

Probably violent.

Don't really care. One of the things I found really interesting was when I stayed in a hotel in Dubai last year they had an English language copy of the Qu'ran there, instead of the Bible.

But I don't mind either way - I enjoy reading a nice work of fantasy before I go to sleep.

Exactly — my Bible is digital, sometimes I may bring along my own copy. And hotels should have WiFi or they should be demolished (really).

But in case your phone is charging and you didn’t bring along a copy, I guess they’re kind of useful. Although they only show the New Testament, which is annoying.

Technically, we could get a Masonic version of that. But I can see a lot of push back. Like, a loooot.

Let's just expand to a pamphlet-size summary of every major religious text. to go in hotel rooms.

I think it is more as a customary in some nations so let it be. Scriptures in hotel room is a respect to religious/ believers. It may be similar to direction sign to qibla in Moslem countries. Other religious follower or irreligious, I thought will not care too much about the scriptures since they already travel many places or meeting whole day and already tired.

It's not bothering me, and I respect other religions and beliefs, so it is not going to be a bother to me. ^^

Even as a Buddhist, I would still sometimes read a page or two just to know a little bit more about Christianity.

Bottom line, doesn't bother me even in the slightest. They're usually pocket editions, not heavy tomes, so they are not taking up much drawer space, anyway.
