Most people don’t believe that their opinions (and those of yes-men) are the only ones of value, though. Well, that’s not true, but we don’t tend to have very high opinions of those people.

Don't really know how I feel about this to be honest. On the one hand I'm glad there was no violence and non of the pride marchers were hurt but on the other hand I don't know how I feel about the cops protecting Neo Nazis.

Nazism is like Communism in my view in that, because it has been tried before (and for that reason alone), it will now always be around in politics to some extent for better or worse. I don't think many people seriously want an exact carbon copy of the Third Reich to be brought back into existence, but can't people recognize that there is plenty of room for building up a newer police state that is more powerful and regimented but also simultaneously more ethical, humane, and etc. than Nazi Germany was or otherwise making tweaks to the platform and movement but staying in spirit with it to address our present day needs?

Dictatorships or authoritarian systems can often accomplish certain things that democratic systems can't. We're overlooking the possibilities a Fourth Reich can bring to Europe and the developed world. The East has a strong police state in the form of China to defend their civilization and values but its just not the case for the West, which is allowing for their own collapse and demise like the Roman Empire did. Neo-Nazism can change this, if only allowed some power to roll back liberalism and multiculturalism and all the political problems that're self inflicted that are against our inherent self interests.

Not totally disagreeable from my viewpoint, but expecting anyone who idolizes Nazism to be ethical has far greater faith in humanity than myself.

Because human rights are for all humans. To be protected by police is a right. Being a Nazi doesn't mean you're not a human anymore. Even if we make Nazism a crime, they would still be entitled to police protection, and must be punished through the mechanisms of due process and the legal system. Even murderers are entitled to police protection. The only way you could really say a Nazi isn't entitled to police protection is if you say a Nazi is not a human.

Nazis aren't any less human because they're Nazis, but their ideology has absolutely no place in any society, and should be removed from it - nonviolently, as much as is possible, of course, and only violently in self-defense or in defense of other people.
