It wasn't (asides from the antisemitism, but honestly- what right wing political party in Europe wasn't antisemitic in those days?), the paradox is that the DAP would've never gotten any traction without Adolf Hitler's speaking ability but Hitler would've never helped the party without being appointed its leader and having free reign to transform it to his liking. The DAP was even considering being absorbed into a Socialist party before Hitler threatened to walk away from them forever unless Anton Drexler permanently stepped down as leader and they didn't go through with the alliance with that other political party.

Hitler got whatever he wanted as a result, because he was so instrumental in getting the party real influence and political power, which they had never tasted before his involvement. Under founder Anton Drexler's stewardship, the party was just another obscure third party on the right that almost nobody would've heard of. Hitler directly changed the fortunes of the party and catapulted to its leadership position with direct control to do as he wished with the party. DAP became NSDAP and Hitler could micomanage the entire platform. What Hitler wanted, he got.

There was nothing inherent to the DAP that mandated that Jews and other groups be killed. But the party from the very beginning, was at least antisemitic in alignment. Hitler and company of course, changed all this.

“By whatever means necessary” is one of those statements that are absolutist. That means everything from gags to arrests - keep in mind we’re not talking about people committing crimes, but just those identifying with a really really bad ideology.

You’re not protecting anyone. You’re saying you will “get rid” of people engaging with bad ideologies “by whatever means necessary”, which is what Hitler did - against communists, Jehovah’s Witnesses, and various other groups seen as hazardous to Germany and Germans based on wrong ideology.
