It's become less taboo to talk about.
In the postwar years any sense of Prussianism was thoroughly suppressed.
Which is strange since you could more accurately blame the South Germans for WW2 than the Prussians.

As long as the AfD exists and Germany isn't a giant Far-Left Refugee Camp, the Prussian spirit will continue to exist. In fact, I consider myself Prussian despite never having descendants from there.
Call me a Prussiaboo, I'll love it.
What a world we live in, where fascists are now just self-identifying as Prussian.

This is the soft power of the Catholic Church at work.

Yeah, but dissolution of Prussia had little to do with "who started WW2" and everything to do with "We need to kill off German fighting spirit". If it was about "who's responsible for ww2", Austria and Bavaria should have been the ones to be punished, and Prussia left almost completely alone.Nova Cyberia wrote:North German Realm wrote:I'm not sure, but it's actually slowly returned to prominence as a historical entity again in the recent years. Prussia was the military powerhouse at that point. Apart from the fact most of its lands were being given to Poland or Russia, it simply needed to go for the new "Germany" to be acceptable to the Allies or the Soviets.

Given almost everything that happened between 300 and 1500 CE. was the Catholics' fault, I don't think anyone unironically thinks Catholic culture is fun, laid back, and nuanced.

Two can play this game.
Not by nature. You can find a lot of heavily believing Catholics who are none of those things, least of all elitist and pedophilic. But I can say that most heavily believing protestants are boring people.

Hey the Catholics aren't the Vatican. And by culture, compare Catholic to Protestant nations in Europe and the Americas.

The Protestant countries are productive, orderly places and the Catholic ones are lazy, siesta-taking, debt-ridden shitholes with strong penchants for communism.
