What mildly irritates me is that if you Google 'Sargon of Akkad', this is no longer the first thing that appears in an image search:



Instead it's some bearded white man who seems to be frequently photographed standing in front of UKIP posters.

Why some inconsequential online figure would take on the name of one of the most important individuals in ancient Mesopotamian history, and what the claimed affinity supposedly is, escapes me. But the original Sargon would likely consider him an urĝir ĝešbe eme šubba.

Google argues they don't censor conservative content, but that wasn't why the lawsuit was thrown out - it was thrown out because as a private corporation they are not subject to first amendment restrictions like a government is.
