Human rights are a moral principle, like all legal principles are at first.

Yeah, and now we have a body of codified human rights to look at, which certainly makes for an easier analyses than asking every person on earth what they believe human rights are.

Human rights are there to support democracy and vice versa, human rights scholars agree, and if you disagree you’re going to have to present actual arguments.
