Remember, recessions are natural and cannot be blamed on anyone, but Trump must have all the credit for any improvement in the economy.

Also Barr and Ross will be formally held in contempt unless documentation regarding the citizenship question and other stuff pertaining to the census is turned over by Thursday.

He's a really good businessman and his super duper financial wizard brain is solely the cause of all economic progress.

I can haz moar SCOTUS nao?

Contempt is little more than a UN condemnation for this administration unless people who aren't Hillary Clinton start getting locked up.

Let us fucking fuck all fucking authofuckingritarians this Fuck Fucking Authoritarians All Fucking Day Fucking Day by quoting this actual diabolical Trump quote, said back when he was starting as a relatively innocuous back mole:

When the students poured into Tiananmen Square, the Chinese government almost blew it. Then they were vicious, they were horrible, but they put it down with strength. That shows you the power of strength. Our country is right now perceived as weak.

This is true, didn't think of that, though a recession tends to hurt one's chances.

Aye, but what if a Democrat wins 2020? Because if that happens, it all but guarantees a Republican will win in 2024. Ah, this is going to be pick your poison kind of scenario, isn't it?

It doesn't really, if the recession hits in 2021 then there'll be a dip, sure, but loads of time for recovery by promotimg stimulus and whathaveyou. 2022 is a tad trickier and you'd have to give up on the midterms wholesale, but that doesn't rule out 2024.

Perhaps, but it will make re-election harder since people will bash on the person in charge despite the fact that a President doesn't have full control of the economy (although Trump's Trade Wars surely don't help).

Donnie having a strongman hardon for China even as he conducts a whiny trade war with it.

Imagine if Obama or Hillary has said the Exact Same Thing.

I first thought that was satirical. That quote made up by the Onion.

How still trusting of me, right? This piece of gilded shit. And reading the context makes it worse. Worse.

Has we all should know by now, a sliding tariff was supposedly going to be placed on Mexico if they do not curb illegal immigration. It did not matter that a new NAFTA treaty (no called USMCA) had been agreed too. This tariff against Mexico came has a surprised since the US has been concentrated on placing tariffs on China. Now for the other big surprise. The US has decided to place tariffs on India and they are eyeing Australia.

This should make many businessmen and even many politicians not too happy.

At this point, we have to consider the possibility that he may be trying to deliberately tank the economy.

He'll announce the United States is filing for bankruptcy so nobody has to pay any taxes.

Which is kind of dumb considering he's kind of been skating on the strength of the economy.

Well, of course he may just not understand that the tariffs hurt the economy, but isn't it at least as likely that he simply doesn't care or that someone in his circle suggested he rescind the tariffs, and he put more on out of spite?

You're confusing authoritarian with autocrat.

The former word implies authority, the later autocracy. Which i believe, is the issue here.

It's more "Democrats don't want a good leader, they want... actually, nobody knows what they want, especially not them".
