Russia wants a stalemate, it costs them very little to maintain and offers them deniability, while keeping Ukraine from putting itself together and complaining about Crimea, keeps NATO/EU frustrated and infighting about what to do, and shows other nations what happens when you annoy Russia. Russia doesn't want to sweep through and achieve victory.

Meanwhile Ukraine, which never had a great army, is facing rebels trained and equipped by one of the biggest military players in the world. They have little ability to push for a victory by themselves, and no one is interested enough to provide the needed assistance to truly defeat the rebels.

The subject was a person who spoke to Newsweek on national security issues in regards to the Syrian withdrawal. That's not related to any legal violation, or any whistleblower.

Hennepin County is becoming increasingly blue. In fact the twin cities metro area is almost 60 percent of the state population at this point If there is similar turnout and a similar map to the Governor election from last year he doesnt have a prayer of winning the state. Insulting the states largest municipally isnt going to help him. In fact it might increase turnout there.
