Weed is past 65% but we still only have 11 states who still have to rely on the fickle feelings of the feds.

69% support gun control including 55% who want to make it tougher to get guns to curb gun violence while only 10% think increasing guns will decrease gun violence, but for some reason we're still catering to the 10% while they continue to pretend we're catering to the 69% and crying about how they're oppressed.

I don't know what level of support would actually make a thing happen.

Fuck, I shouldn't have used guns as an example, now we're going to wank about guns for five pages when that wasn't the fucking point. Oh well, what the fuck are you gonna do. Dogs gonna bark at sirens...

There is an interesting discussion to be had on the second point actually. People support broad platitudes but when presented with actual ideas support rapidly plummets.

That's not only true for guns either, I believe healthcare and such things are the same. Everyone says "yeah all Americans having high quality healthcare would be great!" but then you lay out a plan to do so and lots of people back out. The American electorate is a fickle thing.

You would think but I don't see it happening for a while yet at the federal level for various reasons.

It probably helps that there's no real "dude weed lmao" voter bloc or interest groups to help push it.

Naming a potential 500 page thread after a cabinet member is a very ballsy move in the current climate.
The name's James. James Usari. Well, my name is not actually James Usari, so don't bother actually looking it up, but it'll do for now.

It will be removed from Schedule 1 soon. More and more states are legalizing cannabis in defiance of federal law. This can't go on, the federal government would either have to start enforcing the law, which at this point is too late, or they have to repeal it. They can't simply keep the status quo forever, because if a law is openly ignored without any reprecussions, then the law becomes a joke, and that's a bad look for the state. A few more states legalizing in the next election cycle will be the final nail in the coffin.

President Trump on Sunday called London Mayor Sadiq Khan the “twin” of New York City’s liberal Mayor Bill deBlasio “except shorter.

Trump made the comments as he was leaving for the United Kingdom, which will be the first stop of a five-day trip to Europe.

There is no love lost between Trump and Khan. The London mayor recently said Trump was not in the “same class” as his predecessors. Prior to Trump’s visit, Khan wrote a column titled, “It’s un-British to roll out the red carpet for Donald Trump.”

Trump also described Meghan Markle as "nasty" over her past comments about him. He then denies he said it, and called it fake news, despite there being an audio tape of him saying it.

Weirdly The Guardian has it as..

Breaking news: Donald Trump arrives in the UK for state visit

Is it breaking news, it's not like he's done an unannounced drop-in shopping trip.

Recently the BBC news channel had the breaking news that Theresa May might be about to announce her resignation date. I blame the education system.

Yep. The details matter in polls like this. It's very easy to change the results by rewording the question.

With how Trump runs the White House (with as few people and little supervision as possible) Barr might as well be Trump's liver.
