Memorial Day is meant to honor out fallen veterans, soldiers, and those who have served in the military. But, to me it seems to become commercialized... filth. Well, maybe not filth, but far from the true meaning. We should remember who we are honoring: soldiers.
Thank you our fallen soldiers for protecting the USA.

Of course it's not time. It's never time, not on its own. You make it time. If you're under fire in the no-man's land of WW1, you start digging a foxhole even if the ideal time would be when you *aren't* being bombarded, because once you wait for it to be 'time', other situations will need your attention, assuming you survive that long. If the fields aren't furrowed, plow them. If the iron is not hot, make it so. If society is not ready, change it.

This reads like those yearly posts going "Why has everyone forgotten that Christmas is actually about Jesus?!" or some other nonsense.

It was that since day fricken 1.
And no, we haven't I would say. After all, even here overseas, EVERYTHING this last day or so has been blaring about "honoring the fallen" and the like. I've seen more pictures of tombstones on FB within the past 24 hours than I have for the past 3 months an I'm in a few different Halloween and cemeteries groups.
