Mostly because the people who have invested billions into developing those robots, building them and buying them have zero interest in handing out the products of their labor for free. It's the same reason why capitalists won't pay us workers more a tiny fraction of the money we actually produce working for them.

It’s almost like the existence of the robots radically changes things and one has to move beyond capitalism!

What about if I like my job? Being able to cover my material needs is nice, but not why I'm in this line of work and certainly not why I invested so much time and money over the years developing my skills.

I'd be pretty pissed off if all that personal investment into a prospective career went down the drain because of automation.

Hmmmm
Make it into more money
By this I mean I can buy stuff that I can easily profit off of
And then sell it for profit
And blah blah blah y'know?

I wouldn't have to live hand to mouth, so I could put some money aside for when something catches fire. Also not fall behind on bills and the like anymore. Basically it would vastly improve my quality of life and allow me the freedom to better my position.

If you enjoy the work you do then carry on doing it, by all means. Of course, you wouldn't be able to profit from it in the same way you can now, but it wouldn't be necessary to profit from it. You could do it, whatever it is, just for the enjoyment of doing it.

I'd like to think I'd save it... but realistically it would probably all get spent on various creature comforts. :p

What if you wouldn't enjoy your job, but consider your skills wasted and it would be a well-paying one?

I imagine you'd get over it eventually. Or maybe you'd live a long and otherwise happy and comfortable life, always slightly miffed that you worked so hard to get ahead in capitalism only for capitalism to be abolished.

I wouldn't. I would be unhappy about not having the chance to go investing to reap my rewards, but keep having a mediocre life off the government's teat, with only cars, classic rock and probably some drugs keeping me running, because some losers wanted the money of people like me.

indebt myself with house deposits and rent them out then pay it down for 15 years then retire at 35.

more realistically, a few holidays.

more realistically than that, i would just save it and invest it.

more realistically than that even, i would forget to invest it because i cba to analyse where to put my money so it would just afk in bank until i find a use for it x years in the future.

That's fine. The whole idea is that we have ever more advanced automation until we just don't need people to do any labour any more.
