It doesn’t have to work for you. Our personal agendas and preferences are irrelevant.

I’d rather see the Republican Party implode because it doesn’t work for me. Should that desire mean anything to Republicans or to the party itself? Not particularly, no. It serves the interests of others. All I can do is never vote republican. If you don’t like Alabama PTV, because it won’t air programming that can potentially cause a boycott for them from their targeted audience, then don’t watch Alabama PTV.

I find it particularly a bummer that they won’t show a gay wedding but you don’t see me advocating for the demise of PTV.

I’m not sure if this is a genuine answer or a backhanded compliment but I’m inclined to think you agree with what I said. If you don’t, I’m sure you’ll expand.

The site is hardly obscure. If you have kids and give a damn what they watch, you know what PBSKids is. Hell, I'm not even a parent and I know.

If its a banned episode that is hidden from the kids, part of the fun is it being found by the older kids or adults (because they're the only ones who can figure out how to see it). Secret episodes in general are a feature and not a flaw. This episode probably isn't such a big deal, but if it still offends Alabama, I'd permit that state to at least not broadcast it on a large scale, while its quietly released elsewhere.

I'm sure you can work the answer out for yourself, one way or another. In general, it's frowned upon to discuss other posters rather than their posts.

I mean basically rehashing the "homosexuality needs to be criminalised so I can feel dirty when I do it" logic isn't really a sound argument.

No, it is not. Saying that is different than commenting on the poster himself. Anyway, it was just a word to the wise since these things tend to snowball pretty quickly and the topic gets lost in the shuffle. You should be familiar with that process yourself, Vass.

If people really want to watch it, they can look it up online...easy. Who actually watches TV anymore?

Mostly those in rural areas where internet is shit.

PBS also has a streaming service and the episode is on that as well

Who cares? It's just Arthur. Which is a good show by the way.

Yeah how dare we teach children that it’s perfectly normal to be gay and to be tolerant and accepting. We should instead teach them white supremacy and to be racist xenophobic homophobic bigots right?

I was referring to Saiwania's previous comment about not having kids shows promoting the so called "gay agenda" or liberal values.

I must've missed that Arthur episode...

'Arthur Joins the Klan'... it was shown on ITV in my childhood in the more anything-goes 90s. IIRC, it was put in the vault, and the showrunners promised never to air it again. Now, if you ask about it, they kind of avert their gaze and mumble.

As for this, I would prefer they showed the episode, as I think it benefits children to be exposed to tolerant attitudes. But, not at the cost of an educational network being defunded. Because I don't think that would benefit children long-term either.

EDIT: I do find the direction of legislation is Alabama concerning, though.

No.

I am pretty much 100% confident Arthur never had an episode about white supremacism. I was merely responding to Luna's quip with one of my own.

The real issue is that the gang was blown away by Mister Ratburn marrying a man, but didn't comment at all about his sister's obviously bleached hair.

Play the long game. Target gay-friendly programming at older latchkey kids, not young children supervised by stay-at-home parents.
