Same thing applies.
Maybe that's a good thing then, since you seem so sure that the US is the victim of so many bad trade deals. The rest of the world can be shielded from you and Trump and you can rant about MAGA in peace. Free from the foreigners.
Obviously the US has been the victim, or there would be no trade deficit.
But Trump is off base, the problem is the WTO, not bilateral trade deals. We actually have a net surplus with most the countries we have trade deals with. The deficit is mostly with countries we have no deal with. Like Japan, Germany and the PRC.
So Japan needs to come to the table, or face penalties.
I am willing to cut a fair and balanced deal with Japan, but it would include stipulations to reduce the deficit. And if Japan refuses the tariffs would be coming down hard.
I mean the US did best when we were most self sufficient.
But still I am not against all trade, but only if it is balanced and fair.
Plenty of countries are willing to make bilateral deals with us, on terms we find agreeable.
Those that do not should have to deal with appropriate tariffs.
