I am more or less the opposite definition of fit. I ain't exactly fat and in fact, I am quite a skinny dude.

It just so happens that my metabolic rate was so crazily fast, and I would get crazy bursts of energy from that very food I eat, way more than others. Would that explain why I am so cheerful and happy? I don't know the exact science behind but... anyway,

During school days, I would hit at least 6000 steps every single weekday and come the holidays now, I will be lucky if I can hit even 1000-2000 steps. Though for some days, I did like a 6 km walk/hike around a garden or a nature reserve because I love nature photography. :P

In all seriousness, I feel this on a personal level. When you're anxious or sad you just resort to eating whatever there is, even if it's unhealthy. I've had days where I eat nothing just because I don't feel hungry, and I have days where I eat like a goddamn whale. But yeah, it's tough to replace what you have gotten used to (The unhealthy takeaway food) with better alternatives when you have low mood.

I walk about 8 miles a day just due to work

If you're male, the best way I know of is to quit masturbating. From experience, I know a heavy habit causes hair loss to some extent. Usually your hair thins first, as opposed to any noticeable loss. If you're bald like George Costanza, it might be more fashionable to go completely bald as opposed to leaving the sides intact.

Anyways, do you guys know how to quit unhealthy eating habits (Eating too much fat, eating/drinking too much sugary food/drinks)? I always try to not grab a can of soda or some cheap croissants from the gas station but I always end up failing. I'm only in my 15's and I know that if I treat my body like this it'll be very hard to recover. What do I do? I seriously don't know.

Avoid the situations in which you may find yourself wanting the craved food?

Get a bag of baby carrots, anytime you're arriving somewhere you might buy unhealthy food just pop one in your mouth.

I actually thought of making a fitness and workout discussion but thought that all I'd get is people accusing me of fat shaming.
What would things have been like if every security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive? Or if during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand? The Organs would quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt!

Imo, it is easier for younger people to work on themselves than older but as Thermo said, anyone can make themselves better at any age. I'm young myself and I know I have more freetime to spend on exercise than others. Its simply mustering up the discipline to do so.

I walk past convience stores everyday. When I find myself in need of something sweet, I go for orange juice or chocolate milk instead of soda. I don't go for sugary foods because the drinks alone are enough for me but sometimes I'll go for a small Cadbury bar. Usually I remind myself Ill be home soon and theres food there.

Its mental discipline tbh, reminding urself of why u shouldnt and the will to not do it.

That being said, is swimming a good way to reduce belly fat?

The point is to create a trigger to change the habit.. how many you eat is irrelevant though if you eat the whole bag it might be a problem.

Interesting thing to look into. And whats wrong with Gyms? The Planet Fitness close to me only charge $10 for first timers and they have the widest selection of exercise equipment.

I am a big fan of my abs but personally I didnt use swimming to burn the fat. I did a range of crunches, situps and flutter kicks everyday until the mirror showed something I liked.

Aerobic exercise, such as cross country running, is best for reducing fat and lap swimming is aerobic exercise.

According to this, breaststroke/butterfly/backstroke target your core so I think swimming is effective in reducing belly fat.

For me, cross-country.
As for abs/core: Crunches, Russian Twists, Plank, Side-plank, Reverse Plank, Knee to Elbow, Push-ups, sit-ups, Hip Bridges.
