North Carolina House 9 is vote counting. Democrat is at 52% and the Republican is at 47.5%. Granted still early in the vote count.

A bad sign for Trump if the D wins it. This seat has been in Republican hands since 1963.

Nah, I literally saw this in my recommended news feed. It doesn’t say all that much, but it’s here.

Well, the guy did describe LGBT Activists by comparing them to the Taliban so I would shocked if he won. However, another district did go Red.

It looks like it's working Bishop, the GOP candidate is now leading 50.8 to 48.6 with over 90% of the vote in NC-9

They just called it for him too. I'm a bit surprised given this guy's colorful record. Then again, it is a district that went Republican for years so I guess I shouldn't be too surprised.

No. Your discussion w/ San Lumen proves it.

Notice I haven't applied this to anyone else yet. Just you.

Valerie Plame a former CIA agent who was outed by Vice President Dick Cheney’s Chief Of Staff Scooter Libby is running as a Democrat for Congress in New Mexico’s Second district. Libby was convicted of obstruction of justice and later pardoned by Trump.
The incumbent Ben Ray Luján is running for Senate. This is a fairly safe district that includes the capital of Santa Fe. Whoever wins the democratic primary will be favored.

You buried the lead. You didn't tell us that her announcement video was her doing a bootleg reverse in a Camaro to a Texas blues riff.

That was the most American ad ever.

I wish I could be surprised. I am not. Especially after seeing how many people supported Moore.

Was Moore actually convicted of anything?

It's that time of year again. I'm in the office awaiting a phone call twiddling my thumbs at nearly 3:00 am. Glass of scotch in front of me.

So...19 years ago, where we you?

No, just people I wouldn't vote for. Bill was a bad president whose administration presided over far too much of the creeping authoritarianism we've seen over the past 30 years. I suspect Hillary would have pissed off Russia to the point of no return.

Oh yes, the old "Hillary was totally going to start WW3" lie.

She was anti-Russian to a ridiculous level of extreme.

Anti-Russian = Trusting our National Security Agencies more than Vladimir Putin.

DNC has shown they'll exclude anyone who punches up, so nothing interesting.

You can choose who you want. You can vote for anybody who puts their name on the ballot paper. Whether some club has decided that they're their favourite candidate or not, you can still make your choice however you like.

The people choose who they want in elections to public office. The people do not choose who the Republican party nominates to stand for election. The Republican Party is a private organisation that can conduct itself pretty much any way it wants. They don't have to let their members vote on anything, ever. Likewise the Democratic Party, and every other party.
