Interesting that you mention AOC and a news obsession.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the progressive freshman congresswoman from New York, is a significant subject of discussion for nearly every host, commentator and analyst at Fox News.

A new study finds that Ocasio-Cortez was mentioned at least 3,181 times on Fox News and its sister channel Fox Business Network during the six-week period of Feb. 25 to April 7, or just under 76 times a day. Not a single day passed in that time frame when Ocasio-Cortez was not mentioned on the networks, according to the research.
...
Ocasio-Cortez has "become an obsession on Fox News." It further called the freshman lawmaker the conservative network's latest boogeyman, described as "someone for hosts and guests to demonize, knock down and refer to whenever grievances need to be aired against the Democratic Party."

"Ocasio-Cortez is brought up constantly, even if the topic has nothing to do with her," Media Matters noted. "Hosts and guests smear and misrepresent Ocasio-Cortez's agenda, caricaturing it while painting it as radical, dangerous, far-left socialism."

The organization said Fox News hosts and analysts "go on extended, agressively [sic] angry rants about her. They've repeatedly attacked her intelligence, used her age to discredit her and dismissed her as a 'little girl.'"
...
More specifically, host Tucker Carlson called her an "idiot wind bag," a "pompous little twit," a "garden-variety hypocrite," "self-involved and dumb," a "moron, and nasty and more self-righteous than any televangelist." Another host, Jeanine Pirro, referred to Ocasio-Cortez as a "bartender," in reference to her pre-politics career. Other commentators accused the 29-year-old lawmaker of adopting a fake accent, compared her to a child and called her "adorable in sort of the way that a five-year-old child can be adorable."

Fox Business host Stuart Varney acknowledged the network's laser-sharp focus on the New York Democrat, noting, "We have an AOC segment every single day, almost every single hour. She's good for our ratings." Since she was sworn into the 116th Congress in January, Ocasio-Cortez has emerged as a national progressive firebrand, capturing the attention of Americans of all political stripes. Along the way, she has become a near constant target of the Republican Party's attacks and smears, often drawing the ire of conservative media pundits, who have questioned her age and her ability to make policy decisions. The New York Democrat has occasionally received a less-than-warm reception on Capitol Hill from fellow Democrats, especially over her vow to back primary challengers against party incumbents.

More
Fox News has run more coverage on Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) than on any of the likely or possible 2020 Democratic presidential hopefuls apart from Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), the Washington Post reported Wednesday.

But wait, there's more
Fox News can’t stop talking about Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), even when the freshman member of U.S. Congress has nothing to do with the topic the news network is discussing. News outlets like Vice, Vanity Fair, and the Atlantic have all written about the conservative fixation with Ocasio-Cortez, with Vice dubbing the Bronx-based bartender-turned-politician the “perfect grist for the right-wing media mill.”
...
Fox News host Sean Hannity was the most fixated on AOC. In January, he mentioned her by name 46 times, which they point out is more than twice per show. Even host Tucker Carlson only managed to squeeze in 16 mentions of Ocasio-Cortez.

Lest you think the networks merely love talking politics, they mentioned Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) only a combined 27 times and ran a whopping total of zero segments that focused on the majority leader, even though he wields a lot more power than a freshman representative. As Ocasio-Cortez might say, it sure seems like “obsesión.”

I'm going to take a flier on where you get your news...

In this tweet alone he says he's going to veto a bill that would be unreasonable if it actually existed, reminds everyone that Democrats want more crime, and WALL. But yes, I definitely don't see how this could be polarizing at all.

Of course it's polarizing. That wasn't the issue.

The reason conservatives can't stop talking about AOC is that she is so retarded and we just like making fun of her for all of the retarded things she does. Just watch the MSNBC interview with Chris Hayes she did and all the retarded statements she made. The tweet she made when she said "6 weeks pregnant is 2 weeks late on period" and proves she doesn't know the development cycle of a human infant, how she posted an Instagram story saying she does not know what garbage disposal is, even though she worked in the restaurant industry and should know, and lastly how she said she was "joking" about the world ending in 12 years.

When are we building that wall around white dudes? The point is that Mexican immigrants do not make up a significant portion of rape perpetrators to make mentioning it actually relevant to the issue of immigration, illegal or otherwise. It's a racist red herring meant to scare white people. If you're relying on the law of averages that a population big enough is bound to include rapists it's a bullshit thing to say "they're sending rapists".

There are rapists and drug dealers and that is enough reason for me to build the wall. They come across our borders illegally. That is the simple truth.

This probably doesn't prove what you'd like it to prove.

At least, if you take it at face value, it's a very uncomfortable result. I'd say that we should absolutely consider police discrimination here, at a minimum.

I'm reading three threads right now. This is one of them.

Just pointing out your link says rape is 27% black, but black people only make up 12.3% of the population. I don't really think we should take those statistics at face value.

If Trump runs, Trump will win. He is a populist. He appeals to the working people because he doesn't call them "racist" or "sexist" when they deviate from a guarded and politically correct way of thinking. Democrats - most of them, not all - think within a framework that what they're doing is correct and for the benefit of society, that they are politically correct. But when people stray from them, their framework doesn't change. Most Republican frameworks shift to adjust to the new information, Democrats do not. Instead, they fill in the information into their existing frameworks...people didn't listen to their message of hope and equality, as they believe it to be, and so those people must be racist and sexist, homophobic and transphobic bigots! Usually, this isn't true.

The reason Trump won in 2016 is the same reason Brexit won. The working class is sick and tired to being told what to do and what is right by their upperclassmen. So when a breath of fresh air walks in - Nigel Farage or Donald Trump - that appeals to them, that doesn't call them bigots at every turn, of course they're going to vote for those people. And it will continue happening until the Democrats as a majority shift their framework and adjust their method to appeal to the working class.

I think there's also the security of thinking that sinceTrump is rich, so he can't be bought. The truth of this statement, I don't know.

As far as I know, the Democrats have not switched their focus to populism and tried to identify with the working class... for this reason, they won't win. Trump will. Maybe these words will come back to bite me, and surprise-surprise Trump didn't win. However, I'm still convinced he will win.

I'm British btw, so I can only make assumptions based on similar results in my own country.

Well, that's true.

I'm just saying if we take your source as a true representation of reality, the logic would dictate "good white folk", who make up 72% of the population, are the safest, in contradiction to what you say here:

The point is that Mexican immigrants do not make up a significant portion of rape perpetrators to make mentioning it actually relevant to the issue of immigration, illegal or otherwise. It's a racist red herring meant to scare white people. If you're relying on the law of averages that a population big enough is bound to include rapists it's a bullshit thing to say "they're sending rapists".

Your statistic implies they are far less likely to commit rape compared to other populations. I'm not sure that's true.
Venicilian: wow. Jesus hung around with everyone. boys, girls, rich, poor(mostly), sick, healthy, etc. in fact, i bet he even went up to gay people and tried to heal them so they would be straight.
The Parkus Empire: Being serious on NSG is like wearing a suit to a nude beach.
New Kereptica: Since power is changed energy over time, an increase in power would mean, in this case, an increase in energy. As energy is equivalent to mass and the density of the government is static, the volume of the government must increase.

Just pointing out your link says rape is 27% black, but black people only make up 12.3% of the population. I don't really think we should take those statistics at face value.

Even if you don't take enforcement bias into account, Mexican immigrants don't make up a significant proportion of rape perpetrators. Therefore 'they're sending rapists' is scaremongering and not actually a concern.

Are drugs coming into America via the border via illegal immigrants? Yes. Are rapists coming over too? Yes. Will clamping down on immigration solve this problem (using a border wall and other methods)? Yes. I rest my case.

No, actually, most drugs are smuggled through legal ports of entry and aren't run across the desert like a bad 80s cop show. Rapists can legally immigrate and aren't strictly limited to Mexico, you realize.

You're not doing a good job of making this not a racist dogwhistle.

Warren just keeps holding townhalls all over the country, listening to people, dropping kickass policy idea after kickass policy idea... and yet it's Biden, with his "fuck young people and workers" platform, that's in the double digits.

More drugs are caught at legal ports of entry. That means nothing. Ah, the racist card. Classic SJW move!
