Kind of off topic, but I've always found it funny that the people who rage against this stuff are often the most likely to engage in it. People in Houston were incredibly angry when the first robot brothel in America was going to open there, but with modern demographic analysis being what it is, I guarantee that there was a good reason they decided to put it in Houston.

Since I'm from Utah, I feel compelled to say that the state is experiencing an overall decline in LDS Church membership, partially due to its homophobic views (there was a big exodus in 2015(?) because they made it so that children of LGBTQ+ parents, even if they were cishet, couldn't be baptized until 18). It's only about 60% Mormon atm, and Mormons have been in control of the state for like 150 years anyway. While the government pushes a Mormon agenda, the actual population of the state is not quite as unbalanced.

Btw, people watch porn often. If it was such an overwhelming problem, then millions of people would be considered "not good enough". At that point, at least half the nation. Pornography isn't harmful, except in the cases where it gives an impression of sex that isn't accurate. That can't be resolved through banning porn, but only through teaching sex education.

Though it's worth noting i've seen some radical feminists argue, somewhat convincingly, that pornography teaches "men" (yeah yeah, I know.) that certain sex acts are normal (anal mostly) and that they're part of a sex life and blah blah, and that it unfairly raises the standard expectations of what sex should involve, in effect raising the bar and indicating not only that a woman is a prude if she wont fuck a guy, but even a prude if she won't go the full 9 yards and do a bunch of what are essentially fetishistic acts ranging from regular oral sex to anal and so on.

That strikes me as a valid concern that impacts people other than the user themselves, but not a concern dealt with through the elimination of pornography directly.

Moreover, suspiciously absent from the feminist criticism, was acknowledgement that pornography will also indicate to men unrealistic expectations about sex that would harm their wellbeing too (Even as users of products, there is an expectation of being warned for harm that may arise.). For instance, an expectation that she should be moaning a certain amount and so on. This in itself can damage a mens self-esteem and so on, as well as lead to them escalating in intensity to the point they may injure the woman involved, thinking they're not doing it ah, hard enough as it were.

There's a bunch of problems pornography can cause. It's just a matter of getting people to understand that porn is to sex what action movies are to a fight, and you're a fucking moron if you watch Avengers and decide you're now able to take on a gang instead of.

Pornography occupies a particular niche where it is fictional but not always understood to be so. Just about the only pornographic regulations you'd need are disclaimers noting this fact before a video starts, and arguably that's unnecessary but it's something i'd probably support, and comprehensive sex education.
