If I remember right his haul of treasure from this venture was seashells which the centurions collected. They must have been well happy with their share of the spoils.

I want to read a book or see a movie where Caligula announces his war on Neptune, and it just so happens that aliens from the planet Neptune are listening in and think that Earth wants to wage war with them. Imagine ancient warriors fighting off UFOs armed with lasers yet somehow defeating them.

I have an overactive imagination.

It's not exactly that but you might find Poul Anderson's The High Crusade amusing.

Oh, yeah, spoiler alert, the Wiki article does give away the plot.

Oh... so that’s what the photos on the internet I found was. Very interesting. The Quagga was the first animal I’ve known as a child that became extinct. It has become my favourite animal since.

There was talk of doing the same thing with mammoths, using DNA from frozen specimens. I haven't heard about that in a while, though.

There is a (gold) mining town in the tropics in the Southern hemisphere where the temperature almost always drops below the freezing point of water. Its elevation is comparable to many bases on Everest. The stench of mercury there is horrible.

Gallium is...
one of the few metals which are liquid in elemental form at rooms temperatures under one bar of atmospheric pressure.
another substance which expands when it freezes I really wish I had the courage to tell this to a past science teacher who claimed that water was the only substance which did, and used that as proof of God.
capable of diffusing into aluminium and weakening it to the point of it feeling like wet card-stock or weaker.

Well, yes, but some predators are necessary. Killing them all just let the grass-eaters run wild. The white-tailed deer in the eastern US has no predators except the automobile.

I agree. Not to say we kill all the predators, but the food chain has to keep going on, so there’s must be some predators to kill animals, though not kill us, that’s what I meant.

I just thought about Tarrare, the hungriest man in history. In case you haven't heard of him, here's a video:

Pro:Cultural Nationalism, Traditionalism, Workers' Rights, Fascism, Legal Equality, Limited Immigration, Environment
Anti:Capitalism, Communism, Globalism, Progressivism, Mass Immigration, Imperialism, Equality of Outcome,
Rezmaeristan mostly represents my views, but in some ways represents stereotypes of fascist countries.
