Napoleon was Emperor of the French rather than Emperor of France, it became really popular to do that when liberal nationalism was on the rise.

Psychologists suggest that the reason that people recall or remember random facts, even when it is inherently useless information, is because it is either recalled with a very specific trigger, or because you've unconsciously labeled it as a needed fact.

True story lol

I want to read a book or see a movie where Caligula announces his war on Neptune, and it just so happens that aliens from the planet Neptune are listening in and think that Earth wants to wage war with them. Imagine ancient warriors fighting off UFOs armed with lasers yet somehow defeating them.

I have an overactive imagination.

Hmmmm... Alien vs Caligula

I can see it now - Caligula hears of a crashed alien ship in a remote province, and wants a xenomorph for his gladiatorial games.

The word "sinister" was the Latin word for "left", and apparently, it's usage today stems from the Romans believing left-handed people were corrupted by the Devil.

Australia was ruled by a military junta between 1808 to 1810, which took over after overthrowing Governor Bligh.

So Australia has had a military coup in its history.

Or, if the entirety of Finland was put into a quantum superposition left unobserved, its state could be interpreted as being real and not-real simultaneously.

In Caligula's defense, it's because he was going to go to war with the Germans but decided that was a bad idea.

So he declared war on the sea to satisfy his large army instead

The British, who can afford aluminium better than we can, knock together a beautiful wooden aircraft that every piano factory over there is building, and they give it a speed which they have now increased yet again.
