I'd be partial to an American monarchy, but our oligarchic families (Bush, Clinton, DuPont, Pritzker, etc.) are such trash that they'd be worthy of the guillotine. Giving these psychotic narcissists landed titles would just make them even worse.

We would need to track down some descendants of the Founding Fathers and pick one who is a good person who has accomplished something. I believe that there are still descendants of John Adams running around.

Well if monarchs are abolished and no politicians take their place there is no head of state whatsoever.

I'd guess it'd become the head of government.

The queen is good as a figurehead, I don't want Theresa may taking that role.

You could have the head of state be someone else who has been historically prominent in British society, such as First Sea Lord or Fleet Commander of the Royal Navy.

Yeah, this is an absolute joke. We should have the actual British monarchy instead. (Though if we had to pick an American constitutional monarch, I'd go with Bill Gates. He's one of the few rich people who actually uses his fortune to help people.)

Hereditary nobility is inherently unjust, no matter what the nobles do with their time or money. It is wrong for some people to be born with superior legal status.

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has gone into labour.

It follows weeks of speculation about when Meghan, 37, might give birth - but no details have been given about where she is having her baby.

Rhiannon Mills, Sky's Royal correspondent said: "It was in the early hours of this morning when the Duchess went into labour and the Duke was by her side."

The pregnancy was announced in October, as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex began their first major overseas tour of Australia and New Zealand, and they were expecting the baby to arrive in the spring.

Your thoughts on the amazing event about to strike the Royal Family, the Commonwealth and the United Kingdom?

If something happens like after the queen and her husband dies then Harry becomes king, say he dies so now other prince is King making an American queen so America rrjoins the monarchy.

BALANCE RESTORED!!!

37 years of age is a bit old for a woman to be having children. This is probably her one if not second to last chance, to ever reproduce. She's not a White British however, so her marriage to British royalty is a mistake in my view. Prince Harry chose poorly, that is always going to be my opinion.

How did the press cause an accident or hinder the rescue?

Giving a high speed pursuit, followed by surrounding the crash site to take pictures, shoving aside rescue workers in the hope of getting a good shot.

I agree although the cause of that was those photographers lack of moral compass, regard for life or dignity and indeed a lack of deference.

Strict scrutiny about any royal's supposed lack of adherence to royal protocol does not mean that would happen again.

The photographers
in question should have been investigated for manslaughter and sentenced harshly.

I agree there is bile about Meghan Markle but i disagree that strict scrutiny
is the same as promoting trash photographers.
