Exactly, if marriage were a purely-private institution then individual anti-LGBT churches are free to decide on their who can and cannot access their version of marriage (since it would have purely symbolic and no legal value), but once you make marriage a legal institution it by definition has to be secular unless you want the State to dabble in religious and faith-based discrimination.

And yet it astounds me how many continue to plug their ears to this very simple reason and continue to try and use the Bible as justification.

Marriage is already inherently faith-based.

Well it has faith-based origins for sure, and its complicated by the fact that marriage is a legal institution, but its also a social and cultural institution, with religious undertones. But the latter has to be kept strictly separate from the notion of marriage as a legal institution (carrying a package of legal rights and obligations), which in a secualr State, means a religiously-neutral institution as well.

It's impossible to be a religiously neutral entity while maintaining an institution of marriage.

My opinion on it is that it isn't my business and people can marry whomever they want or choose to do so. Just don't push it on me. You don't have to announce that you're gay/bi/trans/etc. and shove it in our faces. Otherwise, they do them and I do me.

There should be some level of public decency. You are forced to interact with some people whether you want to or not, and going out in public is a form of interaction in-itself. There are some behaviors which we accept are not publicly acceptable, and modes of appearance should be the same.
