I've always considered getting married someday to pass on my genes, continue a bloodline somewhat. You can still enjoy a life with a loving wife or raising kids (considering it goes well).

I've always favored no government legal roles or recognition in any marriage, straight or otherwise. I'd figure it's a private affair for consenting citizens since it does no harm to innocent people.

A wide question, so I will have a wide answer.

Personally, I have no problem with any two or more consenting adults deciding to marry. Having gotten out of a not so great one, I question their sanity but not their right.

In law, I can only speak to what should be the case in the US nuder our Constitution. Obergefell v. Hodges was decided wrongly, in my opinion. A state should have the right to set whatever limitations on who they will grant a marriage license to. However, under the full faith and credit clause of the Constitution, they should be obligated to accept as valid a marriage license issued by any other state. So, the right result for the wrong reason.

Masterpiece Bakery was also decided wrongly; it should have affirmed the right for an artist to control his client base and not been decided on the purely technical grounds of bad comments by the board. Again, the right result for the wrong reasons.

Does marriage give any incentives or rights or anything? I assume, since there's a legal aspect and you can get marriage licenses, that there's a reason beyond the romantic that people get married. Either way, I wouldn't see LGBT+ left out of marriage, that'd be unfair.
