Couple of things - this article is 11 years old, irrelevant information now. Furthermore, it explicitly talks about how most major industries in Venezuela are nationalized or under heavy state control, and that this frustrates business community.

For those who didn't read the article (like Mettaton), it is about how some businesses have been able to keep themselves afloat in spite of conditions and how Chavez is was considering allow a little more private enterprise (which never materialized).

The point is, websites like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube are the primary sources of information and public discourse for millions of people. Facebook goes even further by acting as a sort of "internet passport", as in you need a facebook account to access many services on the internet. Because of this, suppressing people from them for their views is fairly tyrannical and can have huge impacts on certain groups of people.

If you think the internet would be a "nightmare" because people would be able to have free discourse, then that is your problem, not the public's.

It would more of the public's problem than mine, since I am but one user. The more cancerous internet that would exist in your scenario would be affecting the public rather than just me.

If people want to have spaces that are more restricted, they are free to do that (for example, NationStates would still be able to ban people as it wishes), but you cannot restrict the rights of the public as a whole.

The public as a whole aren't restricted. It's the subsection of assholes that ruin the experience for everyone.

Also, you actually think it's morally okay for telecom giants to cut off your phone service because they disagree with your views? Should the electric company be able to shut your power off too? Should banks be able to deny you services because of your views? Without these things, you're basically fucked in a developed economy.

If you're using your phone service to broadcast point-of-no-return views like "Kill all __", yes, that telecom giant is morally in the clear to cut off your service. Electric companies? Nah, that's nonsensical, because you can't broadcast an opinion through pure electricity. As for banks, if your intent is to use an account to fund an organization that espouses point-of-no-return views, then yeah, they're okay denying you.

You act like these opinions on how to treat people that have ridiculous outlier views are shocking, but I think it's perfectly reasonable.

Who decides what "point-of-no return views". Many religions hold a lot of "kill X group of people" views. Should these same companies deny them service on those grounds? Who decides what views are "cancerous"?

I identified it as such, and I believe my response was taking that into account. The statement "Free speech must be protected by circumventing their evil AntiFA rights to life!" is obviously saying that the right to life is more important than free speech, despite the fact that no life was currently threatened.
