Try contacting various trans advocacy groups in your area and ask what they advise.

There are resources out there but you really have to search for them.

Try contacting various trans advocacy groups in your area and ask what the advise.

I wonder how many in the US lack healthcare but are actually qualified for some form of subsidized healthcare and simply never signed up?

Yeah, for sure, I'm on one for disability, but also some therapists only take certain plans that are within network, and not always the state, and the state plans may or may not cover what you need. It's something but there are caveats.
