I care about it tbh. I think genital integrity is a human right. Luckily I was never circumcised, so if I want to get SRS I'm slightly less fucked.

Don't get me wrong, I care about it on other people for whom it'll actually matter. I'm just not mad about it on me.
I don't think circumcision has a massive impact on SRS generally, so I might be more upset if that were the case.

Fair enough. I guess it varies from person to person how they feel about being circumcised or being uncircumcised.

Just as a short aside I would actually like it if NSforums were structured such that, in order to make a post, you needed to type it on a typewriter and post it somewhere, and then it was put on the forum. It would limit the number of people posting shit, as I doubt there are many trolls dedicated enough to jump through all those hoops.

Oh we had internet.

When I went to grade school we had to dial up! Both ways!

Again, yes the fuck they are, considering A) what I just said above and B) the Vatican's recent declaration about forcing intersex infants into surgery, with no regard for human rights.

1. Only one's actions will condemn them to Hell. Nothing else.

Which means we inherently can't treat things like homosexuality, intersexuality, or transitioning as sinful, since the LGBTQ+ are created in God's image. It's that simple, chief.

2. What inherent aspect of the surgery forces someone to live a torturous life? Are they permanently incapable of finding happiness afterwards?

Gee, I dunno, how is it torturous to be forced to endure limb removal entirely against your will because some people decided, "oh yeah we totally have God on our side here," and began forcing people to endure such things?

The very issue is that that's a contested interpretation. Ideally, I'd really suggest you just take a look at that book that I linked to in the post you replied to, it's excellent, but in lieu of that, take a look at https://www.queertheology.com/what-do-we-do-with-the-bible/ and the resources listed on that page.

The same reason any theology can be contested: basic philosophy.

Theology exists within and without logic. Any theological interpretation is a matter of one-sided thinking, focusing purely on useless axioms that mean nothing by themselves because they can't be proven through evidence.

Any reasonable person would say that every other interpretation of theology is just as valid as every other interpretation of a theological framework unless it's completely without a shred of reason.

So The Bible says "a man laying with another man is an abomination".

1.) So what? Plenty of religious people aren't Bible worshipers. It's a Christian-centric view to take.

2.) The Bible never addresses WHY it is an abomination, there is only rampant speculation as to what it means. It could have easily been several thing that weren't just "the act itself is an abomination". Many believe it was to encourage breeding, and to discourage non-breeding. Religious authorities can be two-faced in that way. Others believe it was a superstition, that the act itself would bring down calamities and diseases. Idiotic superstitions are nothing new, I suppose, but they're also nothing old yet. That doesn't mean Christians should be prey to them, because THAT is the real abomination.

3.) Individual Christians have neither the power nor the right to try to forcefully "save" sinners and judge them. It is hubris, pride, and loathsome to attempt to do what only God can do, in defiance and open contempt of what Jesus asked us to do, which is to forgive and to forget. It's one thing to seek justice, but I fail to see how punishing homosexuals for trying to find love and happiness is any kind of justice.

Not really, it has axioms the same as any other form of philosophy, but we still have to reason within those axioms. There are many fields in philosophy in which we don't have concrete evidence to work with, but rely on logic to come to conclusions about things. Theology just uses as it's axiom a "if this, then that" form of inquiry, which is how most inquiries begin.

We have plenty of concrete evidence.

Theology just uses as it's axiom a "if this, then that" form of inquiry, which is how most inquiries begin.

Most of the time it just point blank says things, like “trans people are against nature” or “sleeping with other men is an abomination.” Not that I care to hear any reasoning on the matter, I know where to put other people’s opinions on my “lifestyle”.

Maybe some people do that, but that's not really theology. Theology is stuff like the Summa, which makes a great deal of effort to come up with a comprehensive idea of morality (even if it's one I don't agree with).

And we don't have concrete evidence in every field of philosophy, like Epistemology or Ethics.
