I guess it's still a good sign of the times that we can have it commercialized. But as a leftist, I can't help to be a bit cynical about rainbow capitalism. If they really cared, they'd do more than just sell us rainbow #equality t-shirts.

A clothing company's job is simply to sell T-shirts and other clothes. I don't expect them to be out advocating for LGBTQ rights, though I'd welcome it if they did.

It's more like making clothing a more inclusive experience, and less cisnormative.

The thing about this thread is that it's mostly used for trans people to discuss their issues rather than to discuss the issue of transsexuality itself.

On health insurance: she does not, can't afford it, she's a dishwasher working full time. She has a grandmother to take care of.

On GoFundMe, she hadn't considered it, she might do that.

Being male is the name given to having these parts and yeah, in society having different parts lead you to have different roles (even though it doesn't have that much of an impact nowadays).
Pretty much like being a child, an adult or an old person means different roles.

Well she should contact Texas Health and Human Services.

Admittedly Texas is probably not the best state on these matters.
Still she should apply.

Also should look at non profit health cooperatives and other groups.
Resources are often available, but it often takes a lot of research to find them.

Intersex people exist. Also, the brain is a biological organ that develops at different rates to the sexual organs, it would hardly be a surprise for the brain to differ in some circumstances. I'm okay with a third or neutral gender for intersex people. If genetic screenings show that the baby will probably evolve toward a more definitive appearance (male or female looking), they should have the choice to be that gender or keep the third/neutral option.
