A lot of LeftTube is garbage. A lot of everything is garbage. Depending on what someone's been exposed to and whether it matches their tastes in presentation and argument I can understand why people might have very bad opinions of it and compare it negatively even to shitposting sites.

I've got a more nuanced view now I've found leftist thinkers and satirists who match my tastes (the sarcastic, sharp-tongued non-pc ones who come across like normal people rather than campy overreacting whiners) but if people had screamed at me for hating LeftTube back in the day that wouldn't exactly have changed my opinion.

Yayy! I kinda tune out of US news because it gets me depressed, but this is nice. The article is a bit pessimistic about the Senate chances, though, and I think it's probably right. Guess every silver lining has some rust on it.

It might be slowly changing these days but we grew up in a culture where at best trans people were seen as a joke and quite often falsely portrayed as freaks, perverts, sexual predators. We have an obligation to think critically, to challenge the transphobia our families, the media, and society instilled in us, but very few of us grew up without some degree of transphobia.

I think most people simply grow-up without having a lot of trans people around them, and don't know how to react when they meet someone who is trans. I know for me that's the case, sometimes I don't know what questions to ask, or what people are sensitive about talking about. I didn't meet anyone who was trans until my senior year of high school.

Chances of trending depend on age and the absurdity of the claimed gender.
If they're less than about 25, chances are quite high regardless of the other factor (especially if they're active in an LGBT group, those places are... weird, to put it kindly), and anywhere above 25, if it's absurd they likely haven't matured past 25, much less 12, so they're either trending or too childish to qualify for "trending".

Though in my experience, most "non-binary" people I've met online fall into the categories best described as "both" or "none", but I've met quite a few who go much beyond this "slightly weird but hey I can work with it" range.

But this is just my tree fiddy.
