Historically a lot of them came from an active background in domestic abuse and rape shelters. Hence my point - if keeping transwomen out has genuinely become a greater priority for many of them than having shelters at all then they have completely lost sight of why they were doing the thing in the first place.

Sure, but there's a more subtle things that do indicate a specificity to the trans experience. The red pill vs blue pill, for instance. Back around the time the first movie came out, the primary form of estrogen in HRT was Premarin, which was a red pill. You could also convincingly argue the blue pill was a reference to Viagra. And there's the way Agent Smith consistently and derogatorily keeps calling Neo "Mister Anderson", in the same way that transphobic individuals will deadname and misgender trans people.
