I fail to see anything wrong with it, as it literally means "true scum". It's a cheap pejorative, not even a creative one.

Very much so. She's still active, too, though I'm not sure if she's improved or gotten worse in the past few years, but she's likely a lot less popular than she was around 2015.

The specifics of the person don't matter quite so much as what the word means - "truscum" is a pejorative.

Though, all the same, the moderator who announced the rollback on the blanket filter did [insert specific utterance prohibited on NationStates] about the ebil transmeds, so something suggests that the mod team on the subreddit is split.

You can just look up "idislikecispeople" for the deets about the person herself, it's a rollercoaster of a ride.
However, Urban Dictionary of all places holds what is, from my previous research on the words, the earliest (relevant) mention of "tucute" online, with "truscum" as a tag.

"Truscum" seems to date earlier and I can't find an origin for it; the earliest mention I have found is August 1st, 2012, and up until around 2014 it was very scarcely used, and was used mostly in otherkin and "plural" circles. Both of which this person was part of, fwiw. Her popularity around 2014-2015 is likely why both terms have stuck to this day, and Google trends back this up, with both having search peaks around that time before suddenly collapsing, then resurging more recently.

From everything I've encountered, "tucute" popped up in truscum communities as an opposite term. And while many truscum proudly call themselves that nowadays, it doesn't seem like the sort of label one of them would come up with to describe themselves. Its roughly equivalent to saying "the same person came up with the word "libt*rd" as came up with calling Trump supporters "deplorables"".

The word "tucute" was made up by transmeds as a short hand for "too cute to be cis" which is what their strawpeople "trenders" say. Take the Skylar meme, that compares two transmasculine people, and the Skylar character says a bunch of things and he says that phrase hence he is "tucute" and therefore not actually a trans guy, and it also shows how trans men easily replicate toxic masculinity, in the sense that you're not a real man™ if you do anything vaguely fem or not macho.
