This is simply an excuse to oppress females, they make the same argument in the Middle East as to why they must wear hijabs.

I was not referring specifically to women.

It's not oppressive to females, and we don't make them wear hijabs here. This is just leftist nonsense.

You will have to be more specific about what you mean by "tight pants" as such a word pairing is highly vague.

I believe it serves the purpose of accentuating the body.

Some dress codes are too strict, but it depends on the school or district.

That's a bad comparison given you've already admitted the dress codes aren't more restrictive for girls than boys.

There is nothing inherently wrong with that depending on what part of the body it is meant to be "accentuating" as well as the age of the child in question.

Fine, be less restrictive of the wearing of tank tops or whatever.

Shorts and pants were not allowed for girls in primary school for me, and dresses/skirts had to be past the knee when sitting. No coats (or blankets) were allowed for anyone, because that would hide potentially non-dress-code clothing.
At the very least, gendered dress codes should not be permitted anywhere under any circumstances.
The only limits should basically be ones for sanitation (basically cover open wounds), safety (wear enough clothing to protect in a lab...), and no promoting violence (depictions of violence in a neutral non-education way or a positive way or even of video games which do would count as promoting violence).

The problem is that you're talking about parity as oppression of girls and comparing it to women being forced to wear hijabs.

Is this what you seriously believe? Because that's rather worrying.

And that's even more worrying. Why do you want to accentuate the bodies of children?

Kombinita has given the criteria for dress code and you must all obey her. Repent your misogyny and no longer question female clothing.

School dress codes were made to be restrictive, and those teens need to realize that school dress codes are necessary. If they wear clothes that're too revealing, too exposing or anything else, then those are grounds for strict punishments.

About students protesting dress codes for being to restrictive I decided this would be a good NSG topic and here we are. So to my fellow residents of NSG what are y,all thoughts on school dress codes?

Personally I feel like dress codes can sometimes be way to restrictive. I mean there is some logic to them. Preventing students from say walking around totally nude or wearing offensive shit like a swastika is sensible. But some of them banning stuff like short shorts is just nonsensical to me because I mean who does someone wearing short shorts hurt?

But that is just my feelings on the subject and I am interested in hearing what the rest of you have to say.

Follow the rules and we can see where it can go from there. My former High School has no dress code because there are students that follow the rules about dressing without disrespecting the dress code. Minors however are restricted to have dress codes because they aren't mature enough to follow and respect the dress code. When you enter High School and College, limitations and agreements can be expected. i.e when i was in High School we had a fair warning that if we keep showing up with inappropriate almost-sexual type of clothing that we will be restricted to school clothes-only. Happy to say that it was a 1 warning and never was received again as where the school i was going to we absolutely enjoyed our Freedom in the building.

Men need to shut up about the female body and we need to help them do it.
Men have no purview over the female body. Or others bodies period.
