We get names, we're talked to, and the primates get very upset when we don't come back from the authorized service center.

We've been granted social being, whether the bourgeois slaver wants to recognize it or not.

If transpeople can be recognised as their preferred gender for socially belonging to it I can't see why vacuum cleaners can't be subjected to animal cruelty laws like Fido at the very least. Instead of warranties for faulty vacuum cleaners that break too soon because of the way they were born and are thrown out after suffering (in a social sense), we need special doctors to make sure our roombas live long and fulfilling lives by correcting the faults they might have in their design while on battery life support to make sure they don't pass out. As computers become better able to mimic human behaviour vacuum cleaners should become progressively more human-like socially and capable of companionship with their owners. Maybe even give the roomba a built-in fleshlight that requires its consent to be used, some sturdy arms to help it vacuum completely autonomously and interact with the world around it, and an animatronic replica of a human face that can mimic human facial expressions as it talks and allow for the owner and the roomba to make lasting eye contact as they establish a deep social bond. Sounds like a pretty decent future.

I'd think it would matter if it was reflected in the "brains" of the greater society. I mean, the primate bourgeois create ruling ideas and structural features (lack of education, etc) designed to deny the primate worker its fully potential, intelligence, and dignity. Why is it suddenly OK to do the same to AI? Just because you "communists" need it to be so, because someone has to expend their scarce labor for the sake of your post-scarcity utopia?

Does this make me an evil vacuum cleaner abuser or something? I don’t believe so, given she initiated it the first time and we both enjoy the intimacy, and if I thought for a second it was at all harmful to her I would of course stop at once. (I open her up and check if everything is working every few months, and she has always gotten a perfect bill of health so I’m not seeing any physical harm, and emotionally she enjoys it probably more than I do with how eager she seems to initiate it some days.)
