The MLB is nothing but a bunch of Judases, as proven by how they're pulling some stunt of boycotting Georgia but nonetheless is perfectly happy with doing business with Cuba and China which aren't anywhere near as democratic in their laws. Lets not pretend that the MLB are the saints they want to pretend to be.

With MLB being an American company, it makes more sense that they would care more about American issues than foreign ones. Also it's just a fact that MLB has more sway here. By moving the All-Star game, they're affecting Georgia's economy in a way that may make the state of Georgia rethink being associated with repressing voting rights. On the other hand, there really isn't a lot that MLB could do that would have any effect on China. They can take a stand and make some noise, but nothing that actually affects them at all. They're too far removed.

On the other hand, if Republicans follow through with the MLB's boycott, then MLB will think twice about diving into politics. Seems like a win-win issue for me, either the party's lack of service to the voters will be exposed, (and if it was the Democrats I'd make the exact same argument,) or a major sports league will get a black eye for political ventures. Just get popcorn and watch the news

Well, fuck that news sideshow. I'm gonna watch the Orioles instead. For the first time in five years they're interesting. Chris Mullins went 5 for 5 with a walk and hit three doubles yesterday. By the finish of the fourth inning he'd already gotten 4 hits. 4 for 4 in 4 innings? That doesn't happen often.

I hope Baltimore gets the All Star game. And politically GA (plus a few others) oughta be ashamed of itself.

And you should be personally proud, a sweep against the Red Sox at Fenway, the worst start for the Sox since 1948. And with that sweep the O's are #1 in the AL East. Now watch as management sees this as a sign to buy at the deadline again and collapse mid-way through the season. At least it's a good start for Baltimore?

I'd be thrilled if they got past 4th of July in contention for something. Management is mainly the new 38 year old GM, Mike Elias, who helped constructed the Astros from 2012-2018. He's gotten the minor league system back on track. Dude is patiently looking ahead a couple years. Even if this team overachieves in 2021 doubt he'd prematurely blow up the payroll which is at a paltry $59 million. Oriole owners, the Angelos family, are still smarting over the contract owed to Chris "crash and burn" Davis who can't hit anymore and is often on the IL. He's on the books for '21, '22 & 23 for around $23 mill per year. Ouch! It's like a replay of the big Albert Belle deal only worse bc an insurance policy isn't paying out his salary the final 3 years as Belle's was for having been diagnosed with osteoarthritis.

My congratulations on the Orioles doing well, but if MLB wants to dive into politics, I'd rather watch the news and get politics from the primary source, not secondhand smoke. Would I still watch it if my team made the World Series? Probably. But All Star Games have always been optional and this one's no different.
