By 4:30 pm, the storm blew through here. I may be still without power, Yankee stadium would have been fine to play last night.

Apparently Aaron Boone was complaining to the ump because some Phillies fans were standing outside Ashburn Alley blowing an air horn, as if the ump can do something about pedestrians on a public street...

Vintage Miguel Cabrera is always a sight. I want him to have his last few years be good ones and not have him go out on nagging injuries.

I will miss him, he was always fun to watch in the batters box, that fellow can flat out hit.

Orioles just kicked the overpaid Yankees into third place, taking three out of four this weekend.

Only twenty games left.

Whoa. Suddenly the over achieving Orioles are just 2 games behind NYY.

*getting beak bleed*

Hopefully the Mets will cooperate with the Orioles impossible dream scheme tomorrow and Wednesday. Then it's over to Yankee Stadium for four more.

People usually forget he came up as a Chicago Cub. On June 15, 1964, the Cubs dealt Lou Brock, Jack Spring and Paul Toth to the St. Louis Cardinals for Ernie Broglio, Bobby Shantz, and Doug Clemens. It was one awful trade for the Cubs for a couple reasons. Trading Brock was against the advice of Cub coach and future HOFer Buck O'Neil. They did it anyway. Lou fit in perfectly with the Cardinals. St. Louis went on the become World Series Champs in 1964 and 1967. Brock was named an all-star six times and lead the NL in stolen bases eight times. He was an awesome player to watch. Very sorry to hear of his passing.
