The Orioles are the second team in MLB history to lose 110 or more games in a season and then have a 9 or more game win streak in the next season, this according to STATS.

The other was the Louisville Colonels who went 27-111 in 1889 (133 years ago) with win streaks of 12, 11 and 10 games in the 1890 AA season. That was so long ago that Harry Decker owned a patent for the "Decker Safety Catcher's Mitt" which is dated 1890. He is credited as the inventor. Ancient history.

Excluding the 60 game pandemic season of 2020 the Birds of Baltimore averaged 111 losses in the other 4 of the last 5 seasons beginning in 2017. The Orioles finished April at 6-14. So far, Baltimore's 2022 season turnaround is historic. Let's go O's!

With two of the most marketable players in baseball, the Angels still suck. And marketability is far more important than winning.

Market schmarket, sucking will cost in a two team town. And LAA will have to pay Ohtani next year. Dodgers may come after him for the 2024 season too.
Speaking of crazy salaries... the entire Orioles payroll is less than what the Mets pay Scherzer's for this season.

All twenty of the Angels draft picks last season were pitchers. I found that to be a bit odd. Don't think that's happened ever before in the draft. I know they need pitching but that's not a good plan. It's panic.

ditto and he lived a public life.
Vin was simply great as was his contemporary Joe Garagiola who was also a MLB catcher for nine seasons. Scully was born in 1927, Garagiola in '26. Joe passed away in 2016. RIP to them both and all the great baseball play by play men.

Ten years since the Angels have made the playoffs. Trade Arte Moreno. Meanwhile, the Dodgers have made the playoffs each of those ten years.
