That is concerning, yes.

It's super eerie. Two great religious places, on fire.

From a religious, Christian, perspective, this event is more than just a tragedy, it is devastation to the hearts and minds of millions of people who love this building, and the damage undoubtedly scars the millions more who have loved it throughout history.

From an unreligious or non-Christian perspective, the Notre Dame Cathedral is a feature in Paris/France that is paramount in the hearts of many, potentially parallel to the Eiffel Tower, its structure and design was decades/centuries ahead of its time making it a massive feat in many ways, especially architecturally.

However, it is undeniable that;

The Cathedral of Notre Dame is greatly symbolic of Europe and its people for the last half-millennium and to see its almost-destruction is devastating in many ways. It's burning is a massive strike to the History of Europe as it has lived through many key eras of time.

I just hope that they return it to itself and not try to mold it into something more 'modern' or 'politically-whatever' the Cathedral should remain politically separate.

Al Aqsa mosque also caught fire. Given earlier conversation this is a little...wow.

... Inshallah both fires are dealt with soon, and that Al-Aqsa is able to be saved, and Notre Dame is able to be restored.

Whether or not they can restore Notre Dame to its former glory, it's important that we remember that we remember and appreciate the other such testaments to the history and culture Europe and Christendom, such as the Cologne Cathedral, St Peter's Basilica, All Saints' Church in Wittenberg, and Westminster Abbey, just to name a few.

Huh.
Now that is unnervingly weird.

I am tempted to think that some conspiracy is at work here, but I decide against it.

Why do the architectural works have to suffer?

I think it was suspected that the reason the fire in Al-Aqsa occurred was due to the fact that children were messing around in the courtyard.

Quick: the fire at Al Aqsa broke out at the guard's room outside the roof of the Marwani Prayer Room, and the fire brigade of the Islamic Waqf handled the matter successfully.

ND fire has also been contained. They are going to begin assessments and all that as soon as they can.
