I think a report came out saying the "crown of thorns" is safe. That's about all I got out of it.

The crown of thorns which Jesus originally wore on the cross. A thorn of it was held in a reliquary and it was saved.

tbf you could recreate a faithful replica of the original rose windows today.

Still, I get what you mean.

You can make a faithful replica of almost anything lol, call me crazy but I just think it's pretty blasé to just go "ah well glass can be replaced" when centuries-old masterpieces get incinerated

I think people are just trying to remain positive. It is truly sad that we lost the Rose Window, it really is. And no, you're right, it wasn't just glass. But it's gone. All we can do now is hope a replica is made so we can show it to future generations.

I get it, I do tbh.

We can rebuild, but it's nothing like the original. So I get it. Still, the fact it can be replaced is a good thing.

Don't look at it as blasse, but rather a silver lining.

The Rose Window was magnificent enough that it caused conversions to Catholicism. It's odd, I even recall now mentioning it in an RP post not too long ago...and describing it...How glorious it is. It's surreal that it's gone.

I wasn't being blasé at all. You have grossly misinterpreted the meaning behind what I said. I was saying that the loss of the rose windows can be replaced with a lot of time and care, but if there had been a major structural loss then it would have been far more difficult to remedy.
