Trollzyn, you know the government uses proxies all the time right? Just look at the Mujahideen or the "Syrian rebels." NOI members could kill Malcom X and the government could still be behind it in some way.

The government had been monitoring Malcolm for most of his life, dude. Why they would make a move so late doesn't make much sense. Even if they were involved, we know for a fact it was NOI who did it. Muhammad practically gloated about it.

Elijah Muhammad told the annual Savior's Day convention on February 26 that "Malcolm X got just what he preached," but denied any involvement with the murder. "We didn't want to kill Malcolm and didn't try to kill him," Muhammad said, adding "We know such ignorant, foolish teachings would bring him to his own end."

The cultish love for Elijah Muhammad is freaking scary. Reading about it in books written by black people as a kid, I was like “Oh, okay. Weird but makes sense.”
Seeing it in the Malcolm X movie however, scared me. I felt bad for them. Standing in rows chanting not “All praise due to Allah and peace and blessings upon his prophets!”, but “All praise due to Allah for Elijah Muhammad!”

“Africa for the Africans!”

Malcolm little was born to an Grenadian mother (Louise Helen Little) and Afro-American father (Earl Little). His mother was extremely light-skinned, able to pass for white, because her mother had been raped by a white man. Earl was a Baptist preacher and an outspoken follower of Marcus Garvey, a Pan-Africanist. Earl said that since black people were not welcome in the United States, they should return to their ancestral homes in Africa, making statements such as “Africa for the Africans!” Eerily, the same call rang out from the other side: white segregationists who wanted black people out.

The KKK regularly harassed the Little family, and they moved from Omaha to Milwaukee, and soon, from Milwaukee to Lansing. Their, a branch of the KKK called the Black Legion (which wore black robes rather than white ones) burned down their house in 1929. When they called him the n-word, Earl yelled out to them “I’m a man! And a real man don’t hide behind no bedsheets!” he shot at them (he didn’t shoot them, knowing the consequences if he did).

Malcolm father died of disputed circumstances when he was six. While the official report was it was an accident, Malcolm’s mother was positive that he had been killed by the Black Legion of other white supremacists. The incident scarred the young Malcolm, who wasn’t sure if his father had been killed or simply accidentally hit by the streetcar. Malcolm and his brothers and sisters became disruptive and destructive, and Malcolm began stealing food and other items. Malcolm and his siblings were taken away from their mother, as it was claimed she could not watch over them properly.

Malcolm attended West Junior High in Lansing, then Mason High School in Mason, Michigan. The white children expressed a weird fascination with him like an exotic toy. They called him the n-word so much he saw no problem with it. The children spoke about him as if he couldn’t understand English. He left in 1941 before he could graduate, when he expressed a desire to be a lawyer, but a white teacher told him “I lawyer is no reasonable goal for a [n-word]!” and suggested he became a carpenter. He held a variety of jobs from the time he was 14 to the time he was 21 around the Boston area. He later moved to Harlem, where he met Shorty, who hustled with him. Malcolm began straightening his hair, and was nicknamed “Red” due to the natural color of his hair. He soon met West Indian Archie. From the Caribbean like Malcolm’s mother (they would connect on this when Archie asked if Malcolm was b-sing him and Malcolm replied “First thing my daddy taught me was never [BS] a West Indian.”
“Your daddy’s West Indian?”
“No sir, my mother. She’s from Grenada!”), Archie would employ Malcolm to help him take combinations for people betting on winning numbers, after he saw Malcolm break a bottle over the head of someone in a bar who insulted Malcolm’s mother.

The two would later fall out when West Indian Archie, known for his remarkable memory, forgot Malcolm had betted on three numbers that had hit, and thinking Malcolm wanted to cheat him, tried to kill him. Malcolm, who was with a white girlfriend at the time, was able to escape. He and his friend Shorty decided to go around with their white girlfriends robbing houses. However, they eventually were caught by the police. They were sentenced to prison. Their worst crime in the eyes of the law wasn’t robbing houses. What was their most serious charge?

“I’ll show you how to get out of prison.”
Malcolm and Shorty landed in prison for their crimes. It was here that Malcolm truly became anti-religion, his favorite targets being God and the Bible. It was there he would meet John Bembry, a self-taught man who encouraged Malcolm to read the entire dictionary, helping Malcolm realize that racism could even be found in the fundamentals of the English language. Malcolm began reading anything he could.

Malcolm soon learned his brothers and sisters had joined a new movement: the Nation of Islam. The Black Nationalist movement believed that white people were devils and all responsible for the oppression of black and brown people throughout the centuries, and that black people should return to Africa. Malcolm at first had little interest in the movement, but when his brother wrote him, “Malcolm, don't eat any more pork and don't smoke any more cigarettes. I'll show you how to get out of prison" in 1948, he has captured Malcolm’s interest. He learned more and more about the religion, and found it had quite a few things commonplace with his upbringing, such as the call for the African diaspora to return to the continent, and the prohibition on pork consumption (his mother had raised him not to eat pork).

Malcolm concluded that every relationship he’d had with a white person, the man who raped his mother, the social workers who took he and his siblings away, the kids and teachers at school, the men who were cruel to him at work, the judge who had sentenced him, all had been negative. He decided the Nation was right: white people were devils. And how could God be the same race as a devil? No! God, Jesus, Noah, Abraham: they all must have been black. Nicknamed “Satan” for his opposition to Christianity, following a letter from Elijah Muhammad, he converted to Islam after having an internal struggle to get on his knees and bow before God. He cut off all his hair to get rid of the straightener, and continued to annoy the chaplain in prison. In one exchange, he challenged the assumption Jesus (pbuh) was white.
“What color were the original Hebrews?” he asked.
“I told you, we don’t know,” was the reply.
“So you can’t be sure... that Jesus was white,” he concluded.
“Now hold on just a minute! Jesus is white, isn’t it obvious,” the chaplain said, pointing to a nearby statue.
“Well, that’s obvious,” said Malcolm, referencing it was obvious what color the statue was, “but it doesn’t prove Jesus was white. Even in the very Bible you tell us to read... it says Jesus had hair like wool and feet the color of brass.” The other prisoners flipped to the verse he was referencing.
“Just what are you saying?” asked the chaplain.
“I’m not saying anything. I’m proving to you, and I might quote on of our Indian brother in this, he was not a ‘paleface’!”

Malcolm would write President Truman a letter 2 years later in 1950, declaring opposition to the Korean War and calling himself a Communist. At this point, the FBI decided it was best to open a file on this guy and keep a close watch on him. He changed his last name to X, as Little was the named of the “blue eyed devil” who owned his ancestors.
In ‘52, Malcolm would be let out on parole, and soon, he would meet the man he believed had shown him the light: Elijah Muhammad.

“That’s your foot on my neck!”
In 1953, Malcolm would be appointed assistant minister of Temple Number One in Detroit. Later, he would establish a few other temples. The FBI began surveilling him not for possible ties to Communism, but for his rapid rise in the Nation of Islam. Malcolm himself would go in the streets handing out flyers to passerby and people who had just left church, encouraging them to come to the sermons of him and others. Through Malcolm, the numbers of the Nation of Islam grew. Hundreds joined the nation every month. Malcolm was not only a good orator, but also described by others and tall and “mesmerizingly handsome”.

Betty Sanders, a new member of the Nation of Islam, soon caught Malcolm’s eye. They began hanging out together, though always in gatherings of other people sometimes up to the hundreds, as being along together on a date went against their beliefs. In 1958, he proposed to her over the phone, and she immediately said yes. They would have six daughters: Attallah (named after Attila the Hun), Qubilah (named after Kublai Khan), Ilyasah (named after Elijah Muhammad), Gamilah Lumumba (named after Egyptian leader Gamal Abdel Nasser and Congolese resistance fighter Patrice Lumumba), and twins Malikah and Malaak (born shortly after his assassination and named in his honor).

Malcolm would first enter the press’ eye in 1957, when Hilton Johnson was beaten by two police officers with nightsticks. A few Nation of Islam members tried to intervene, shouting at the officers “You’re not in Alabama! This is New York!”. All of the black men were promptly arrested, including the bloodied, brain hemorrhaged Johnson. Malcolm was soon alerted by NOI members and other black bystanders alike, the latter group asserting of Malcolm “He’s a Muslim! He’ll rap [shout and preach] a little,” but that he ultimately would do nothing. Malcolm and a group of the NOI’s guard, the Fruits of Islam, marched to the station, followed by a crowd of NOI supporters and other black people. Malcolm and two men walked into the station and demanded to see Johnson. The police denied he or any other Muslim was being held there. Malcolm promptly told them to look out their window, where a crowd of angry black people numbering 500 and growing was outside.

The officers immediately admitted that Johnson was being held there. “Yeah, we got a Muslim. But you ain’t his lawyer, so you can’t see him.”
“But you ain’t his lawyer”?
What had Malcolm teacher said all those years ago?
An n-word could be a lawyer.
Malcolm said “Yes, we intend to see Brother Johnson. The Fruit of Islam are disciplined. They haven’t broken any laws... yet.”
The officers let him see Johnson. Malcolm angrily demanded he be taken to a hospital. And so it was arranged. The police then told Malcolm to disperse the crowd, but he replied, “No. I’m not satisfied.”
He and the Fruit of Islam marched to the hospital, followed by the crowd. Only after a doctor assured Malcolm that Johnson was being given the best care possible did he relent. He gave one simple hand movement, and the Fruit of Islam guards silently did a left face in unison and marched away. The crowd soon left as well. One police officer told New York Amsterdam News “No one man should have that much power.” After a jury refused to indict the officers who beat Johnson, Malcolm sent a... strongly worded... letter to the police commissioner. The police soon sent undercover officers to infiltrate the NOI. Malcolm soon met Gamal Abdel Nasser of Egypt, Ahmed Sékou Touré of Guinea, Kenneth Kaunda of Zambia, and Fidel Castro of Cuba. Malcolm would say, “The only way we'll get freedom for ourselves is to identify ourselves with every oppressed people in the world. We are blood brothers to the people of Brazil, Venezuela, Haiti, Cuba -- yes Cuba too.” A reporter would ask Malcolm if he had a chip on his shoulder. Malcolm replied “There’s not a chip on my shoulder, that’s your foot on my neck!”

Seeing the brutal suppression at Civil Rights protests, Malcolm would say, “A hundred years ago the American white men used to put on a white sheet and use a bloodhound against Negroes. Today they have taken off the white sheet-well, some of them have taken off the sheets-and put on police uniforms and traded in the bloodhounds for police dogs, and they're still doing the same thing.” He criticized other Civil Rights members. “We are not non-violent with those who are violent with us.” He called MLK a chump, and was wildly denounced by the NAACP and other Civil Rights leaders for his black supremacy and “segregationist rhetoric”.

Malcolm advocated for violence when met with violence, saying that if white America couldn’t take care of its house (the US), “he [the white man] shouldn’t have a house. It should burn down.” He advocated for complete separation of whites and blacks. And pointed to the crimes throughout history as evidence whites were evil and couldn’t be trusted. Malcolm taught Louis X, now known as Louis Farrakhan. He communicated with Elijah’s son Wallace, who told Malcolm that Elijah’s “unorthodox” interpretation of Islam worried him. Malcolm continued to spread his divisive rhetoric, saying:
“Brothers and sisters, I am here to tell you that I charge the white man. I charge the white man with being the greatest murderer on earth. I charge the white man with being the greatest kidnapper on earth. There is no place in this world that this man can go and say he created peace and harmony. Everywhere he's gone he's created havoc. Everywhere he's gone he's created destruction. So I charge him. I charge him with being the greatest kidnapper on this earth! I charge him with being the greatest murderer on this earth! I charge him with being the greatest robber and enslaver on this earth! I charge the white man with being the greatest swine-eater on this earth. The greatest drunkard on this earth! He can't deny the charges! You can't deny the charges! We're the living proof of those charges! You and I are the proof. You're not an American, you are the victim of America. You didn't have a choice coming over here. He didn't say, ‘Black man, black woman, come on over and help me build America’. He said, ‘[N-word], get down in the bottom of that boat and I'm taking you over there to help me build America’. Being born here does not make you an American. I am not an American, you are not an American. You are one of the 22 million black people who are the *victims* of America. You and I, we've never seen any democracy. We didn't see any... democracy on the-the cotton fields of Georgia, wasn't no democracy down there. We didn't see any democracy. We didn't see any democracy on the streets of Harlem or on the streets of Brooklyn or on the streets of Detroit or Chicago. Ain't no democracy down there. No, we've never seen democracy! All we've seen is hypocrisy! We don't see any American Dream. We've experienced only the American Nightmare!’
However, Malcolm’s popularity continued to grow, worrying his mentor. Elijah Muhammad began to view the man getting so much popularity as a threat. Malcolm couldn’t grow anymore powerful. No! One way or another, Malcolm had to go.

Malcolm X handed that police beating issue well imo. He made sure the police and the hospital alike realized that if they weren't gonna do the right thing peacefully, there would be consequences.

It's good he left the NOI eventually. While I understand the anger that drove him to join, the NOI is a viciously anti white and antisemitic organization and traffics in bizarre theories such as white people being a result of weird genetic experimentation.

“I gotta get my life story down in my own words while I still can.”
Malcolm’s prominence continued to grow and grow. As it did, Elijah Muhammad became more and more concerned Malcolm may become a threat to him. After 1960, the police and Nation of Islam members would soon butt heads. In 1961, a group of Muslims were acquitted after a scuffle with the police, but this did nothing to relieve the tension between the two groups. In April of 1962, without provocation, Los Angeles policemen beat Muslims outside of Temple Number 27. More and more angry Muslims gathered and began disarming one officer. Another was shot in the elbow. 70 more officers were called, and they raided the temple, shoot and paralyzing one man. Another man, a veteran of the Korean War, was shot while raising his arms to surrender, and was killed. While the Muslims were indicted, the officers never faced charges. A furious Malcolm used his background as a former gangster to begin preparing members of the Nation for retaliation if necessary. He asked Elijah Muhammad for permission, and to his surprise, he was denied it. The same thing happened when he began preaching the possibility of the Nation of Islam working with other political and religious groups. Malcolm, still, however, believed in Elijah Muhammad.

Soon, though, he would begin to question his devotion to him. Rumors began to circulate that Elijah Muhammad had engaged in sexual intercourse with several of his secretaries, and even had children with them: a major breach of Islamic principles. Malcolm first dismissed them as the white man’s attempts to divide and conquer, but after an argument about it with his wife, he then visited the women accusing Elijah of having sex with them. After that and a conversation with Elijah’s son, Wallace, who repeatedly was dismissed and readmitted to the nation by his father, Malcolm was convinced that the rumors were true. Elijah Muhammad would eventually come forward and confirm the rumors, but would attempt to justify them by looking at the Bible and showing the faults of prophets in that book.

In December of 1963, President Kennedy was assassinated. Malcolm referred to the assassination as “chickens coming home to roost” and likened it to the assassination of Congolese resistance fighter Patrice Lumumba and US Civil rights leader Medgar Evers, as well as the killing of little girls in the bombing of an Afro-American church in Alabama as chickens, and said "chickens coming home to roost never did make me sad; they've always made me glad." While he agreed all these events were tragedies, his poor choice of words would come back to bite him, as many began claiming he was happy Kennedy was dead. Malcolm then was censored for 90 days by Elijah Muhammad, a perfect opportunity for him to silence Malcolm. The truth was that Elijah had grown jealous: Malcolm had been covered far more extensively by the media than Elijah Muhammad, and in a book about the Nation, it was Malcolm’s picture that was used, not Elijah’s.

In January of 1964, boxer Cassius Clay invited Malcolm and his family to Miami to watch him box, which Malcolm accepted, in events that would eventually be the storyline for the movie One Night in Miami. Gathered atop a roof with Sam Cooke, Jim Brown and Cassius Clay, Malcolm confided in them about the problems he was facing. “The tension between me and Mr. Muhammad has grown,” he said. “Remember the writer in New York? There were to guys following us. I swear it was the same two.”
“I thought you didn’t trust writers,” Cooke joked.
“This one was a brother,” Malcolm said. “And this meeting was important. I figure I gotta get my life story down in my own words while I still can.”
Malcolm soon converted Cassius Clay to Islam, and he renamed himself “Muhammad Ali”.

In March of 1964, Malcolm left the Nation of Islam. While still a Muslim, he no longer identified with the NOI. He said in a public address he forgave the bad things other Black leaders had said about him, and hoped they would forgive the things he had said about them. He would meet Martin Luther King for the first time that same month as both watched on as the Senate debate the Civil Rights bill. The two would never meet again. He later gave a speech titled “The Ballot or the Bullet” in which he encouraged black people to vote, but warned they may be forced to violence if the government continued to refuse them equality.
After looking into Sunni Islam, he officially converted to it. He encouraged Muhammad Ali to join him in becoming Sunni, but Ali, still very supportive of the NOI and Elijah Muhammad, instead severed all ties with Malcolm. As a Sunni Muslim, he would decide to fulfill every pillar of Islam. Including the fifth one: Hajj, the pilgrimage to Makkah.

”I am not a racist.”
Malcolm had publicly left the Nation of Islam in 1964. In April of that year, he was able to scrape together enough money to embark on the fifth pillar of Islam: Hajj. The pilgrimage to Makkah.

Before going to Saudi, Malcolm landed in Cairo, United Arab Republic. He visited the pyramids, but noticed something: two white men seemed to follow him wherever he went. Malcolm was certain: they were part of the CIA. And they were watching him and his every move. He was stopped in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia: the fact he was American and largely unable to speak Arabic convinced them he was not a Muslim. While held up there, many Muslims from around the world pestered him with questions, amazed by him. He was popular in the Muslim world as well as America: in fact, that’s how many knew him as. “The Muslim from America”. He also began to learn more and more about Sunni Islam. Much of it was new to him: Elijah Muhammad had been his teacher, and the man seems to have genuinely known very little about Islam. Elijah Muhammad had never even taught people how to pray: it’s not unreasonable to think he genuinely never knew how. Soon, the son of the author of a book he had just received soon arranged for his release. Malcolm would be let out the next day to hear that Prince Faisal had made him a state guest.

He would write from Saudi Arabia:

I have just completed my pilgrimage (Hajj) here to the Holy City of Mecca, the holiest City on earth, which is absolutely forbidden for non-Muslims to even rest their eyes upon. This pilgrimage is the most important event in the life of all Muslims, and there are over 226,000 who are here right now from outside of Arabia. From Turkey came the largest contagion, around 50,000 in over 600 buses. This refutes Westerner propaganda that Turkey is turning away from Islam.
I know of only 2 others who have made the actual Hajj to Mecca from America, and both of them are West Indians who also converts to Islam. Mr. Elijah Muhammad, 2 of his sons, and a couple of his followers visited Mecca outside the Hajj season, and their visit is known as the “Omra”, or Lesser Pilgrimage. It is considered a blessing in the Muslim World even to make the “Omra”. I very much doubt that 10 American citizens have ever visited Mecca, and I do believe that I might be the first American born Negro to make the actual Hajj itself. I’m not saying this to boast but only to point out what a wonderful accomplishment and blessing it is, and also to enable you to be in a better position intellectually to evaluate it in its proper light, and then your own intelligence can place it in its proper place.
This pilgrimage to the Holliest of Cities as been a unique experience for me, but one which as made me the recipient of numerous unexpected blessings beyond my wildest dreams.
Shortly after my arrival in Jeddah, I was met by Prince Muhammed Faisal who informed me that his illustrious father, his Excellency Crowned Prince Faisal had decret that I be that I The ruler of Arabia be his Guest. What has happened since then would take several books to described, but through the ***** of his Excellency I have since stayed in ***** hotels in Jeddah, Mecca, Mina – with a private car, a driver, a religious guide, and many servants at my disposal.

Never have I been so highly honored and never had such honor and respect made me feel more humble and unworthy. Who would believe that such blessing could be heaped upon an American Negro!!! (But) in the Muslim World, when one accepts Islam and ceases to be white or Negro, Islam recognizes all men as Men because the people here in Arabia believe that God is One, they believe that all people are also One, and that all our brothers and sisters is One Human Family.
I have never before witnessed such sincere hospitality and the practice of true brotherhood as I have seen it here in Arabia. In fact all I have seen and experienced on this pilgrimage as forced me to “re-arrange” much of thoughts pattern and to toss aside some of my previous conclusions. This “adjustment to reality” wasn’t to difficult for me to undergo, because despite my firm conviction in whatever I believe, I have always tried to keep an open mind, which is absolutely necessary to reflect the flexibility that must go hand in hand with anyone with intelligent quest for truth never comes to an end.
There are Muslims here of all colors and from every part of this earth. During the past days here in Mecca (Jeddah, Mina, and Mustaliph) while understanding the rituals of the Hajj, I have eaten. From the same plate, drank from the same glass and slept on the same bed or rug – with Kings, potentates and other forms of rulers – ******* with fellow Muslims whose skin was the whitest of white, whose eyes was the bluest of blue, and whose hair was the blondest of blond – I could look into their blue eyes and see that they regarded me as the same (Brothers), because their faith in One God (Allah) had actually removed “white” from their mind, which automatically changed their attitude and their behavior (towards) people of other colors. Their beliefs in the Oneness as made them so different from American whites that their colors played no part in my mind in my dealing with them. Their sincere To One God and their acceptance of all people as equals makes them (so called “Whites”) also accepted as equals into the brotherhood of Islam along with the non-whites.
If white Americans could accept the religion of Islam, if they could accept the Oneness of God (Allah) they too could then sincerely accept the Oneness of Men, and cease to measure others always in terms of their “difference in color”. And with racism now plaguing in America like an incurable cancer all thinking Americans should be more respective to Islam as an already proven solution to the race problem.
The American Negro could never be blamed for his racial “animosities” because his are only reaction or defense mechanism which is subconscious intelligence has forced him to react against the conscious racism practiced (initiated against Negroes in America) by American Whites. But as America’s insane obsession with racism leads her up the suicidal path, nearer to the precipice that leads to the bottomless pits below, I do believe that Whites of the younger generation, in the colleges and universities, through their own young, less hampered intellects will see the “Handwriting on the Wall” and turn for spiritual salvation to the religion of Islam, and force the older generation to turn with them—
This is the only way white America can worn off the inevitable disaster that racism always leads to, and Hitler’s Nazi Germany was best proof of this.
Now that have visited Mecca and gotten my own personal spiritual path adjusted to where I can better understand the depth of my religion (Islam), I shall be living in a couple days to continue my journey into our African Fatherland. Allah willing, by May 20th before my return to New York, I shall have visited Sudan, Kenya, Tanguanyika, Zanzibar, Nigeria, Ghana, and Algeria.

Tailed everywhere by the two white men, Malcolm would soon return to the United States. He missed his family and was eager to preach Sunni Islam. He hoped of America accepted the religion, racism could be almost eradicated. He realized, however, that the government could surveil him better there. And there was someone other than the president who was watching Malcolm.
So was Elijah Muhammad.

Ramathipadi I was a son of Chey Chettha II. With the help of Muslim merchants from Malaya, he murdered Ang Non I in 1642, and ascended the throne. He converted to Islam and changed his name to Sultan Ibrahim. He started to drive out the Dutch East India Company, in 1643, the Cambodian–Dutch War broke out.[1]

Yeah, the majority of Cham in Cambodia are Muslim (in contrast to Vietnam's population which tends to be Hindu). I don't really know much about them specifically, like what form of Islam they usually practice.

According to Wikipedia, the ones in Cambodia, Malaysia, Thailand, Hainan and Southern Vietnam are Sunni Muslim, while the ones in Central Vietnam are usually Hindus.
However, due to clashes of empires and colonialism, they were cut off from other Muslims for so long they practiced Islam in a rather heretical way, such as worshipping Āli (May God be pleased with him) as a son of God.
Once they made contact with the rest of the Muslim world again, they soon changed these practices to what is actually in Islam.
