I once stayed up for two days straight back when I was rush-revising my entire dissertation after late feedback. Fell asleep on the bus back after handing it in.

Impressive... and unhealthy. I’d be panicking quietly if I couldn’t sleep within 30 minutes of eyes shut. And also if I’ve gone over 18 hours of no sleep. Very surprised of some of the records.

Alright I better get some shut eye now because that melatonin produced by my body is building up.

Though I will say, I did have a lot of caffeine yesterday on top of that to get through the day at my two jobs from a 3 hour nap.

At least I'm off today for my new job so I can sleep in.

Bye guys!

Three days.

It was not deliberate and I would not recommend.

I've never needed as much sleep as most people do... and when I left my last job I wanted to leave everything ready for my successor and so worked through (with meal-breaks & toilet-breaks, of course, and short breaks for reading things of more interest as well) from 9 a.m. on one day -- completing a lengthy briefing document (something that would have been very useful when I started the job...) , as well as tidying up and finishing my rationalisation of the department's storage and some other tasks -- to around 2.30 p.m. on the next... and then finished that day as if it had been one before which I'd had the normal amount of sleep, too.

Sure, you may not feel sleepy, but your brain needs a rest, too. It’s working hard when you’re awake and is relaxed and chilling (not sleeping) when you’re sleeping.

That’s quite extraordinary to me. I’d be tired and I wouldn’t want to do extra work without getting paid. You live a hardworking life.

I prefer not to work any harder than I actually have to: Put that particular session down to a combination of knowing what starting that job would be like without the advice, relief at being out of there, and the fact that I find working by myself at night easier than working with other people in daytime anyway...

Huh, that’s unique. I prefer to work with other people in daytime, mostly because I don’t want to feel lonely.

On the other hand, however, I hate to socialise. Some people in the world make me go beyond what my respected values allow me to do just for a temporary moment of socialising (like talking about the scene of violence and saying it’s fun) may change my mind in the future.

For me... 5 days. Not because of choice, either. I was in the middle of some forest for my army's field camp, and we have no access to running water like that. We have drinking water that we could use to wash our face, sure, but there's no soap, and there's just powder to ward off the dirt.

And on the 6th day, when I went back to the barracks... the cold shower was soooo very heavenly! It's just... the combination of the cold water and the soap/facial wash/shampoo, along with changing into a fresh set of clothes to sleep on your proper bed instead of on some dirt?

Man, that was heavenly.

I've gone for about a week without showering at least once, but in those situations I'm usually swimming everyday, which sort of negates it.

It's not exactly a very specific description.

Sightings of terrifying Ancient Ones, or those Gods Before The Gods who were not separated from Earth once the Veil became active, may have made it in the holy books of the lackluster religions created by the less hirsute primates.
