I've been growing bored with debating in NSG lately as well as certain topics so my eyes are on Twitter now along with new topics haha.
Ahmadi Muslim • Khaddam of Ahmadiyya • debater • defender of Islam & Ahmadiyya from its critics • theistic evolutionist • Star Wars fan • rock and metal fan • Pragmatic on politics

They’re literally paying 30,000 NT every month in membership fees and they are convinced they will be successful some day (they’ve never closed even a single sale or recruited a single member)

They’ve been doing it for years and it appears that they have been indoctrinated

Ugh, Amway. Never came to like it. Piece of pyramid scheme crap. Best thing you can do is show them proof, and if they don’t believe you, let them go. They will know the hard truth soon.

Don’t forget us! We’re still friendly!

On the other hand, I’ve decided to talk less on politically based threads. I hate having to compromise my neutrality in politics. Mostly because I find politics a waste of time and their leaders never do anything in the end. They never solve world problems. For the record, they create more. But I’d like to hear any other opinions on it that will change my mind.

It’s really sad because they are my cousin and I really don’t want to see them destroyed

They tried to recruit me to a meeting and as soon as I stepped in there, I could sense that this was a very dangerous brainwashing cult.

However, literally no one, not even his parents or other cousins, can sway him otherwise

If we bring proof or question him, he’ll say: “are you saying I can’t be Successful? ... is that what you’re saying?!”

At every family gathering they would come to try to sell the Amway products at the meals (to everyone’s frustration, amusement, or embarrassment)

I feel so sorry for your Cousin. It’s good your family is trying their best.

Bring him more proof, and tell him straight to the face that it is a pyramid scheme, and he’ll lose money by it. Tell him to shut up and tell him why. And tell him that he can be successful but not with Amway. And tell him to search it up by himself. If he does, he’ll find nothing but negative news about Amway. He may wonder why there’s no positivity.

Good. Try the fierce method. I hope he’s intimidated.

I don’t have any experience with the group, though. All I hear are tons of negative reports, and that’s enough for me to make a decision. I don’t plan on starting a business anyway :P

Maybe avoid Twitter, though. It might be the next Facebook.

Possible. Nowadays random topics become grounds for political and religious wars. I realise there are a lot more reports on flaming and gloating nowadays. I’m getting tired but I will not renounce my place in society.

Are you sure you want to go on to Twitter? I been on there a few times and I only see negative things. I prefer websites with positive vibes while I know NSG doesn't give off those vibes I like talking on here and doing some RPs in my region.

The political and religious wars are what make NSG interesting. Not always pleasant, but interesting.

I'm not sure the debate on Twitter is better, and I believe Twitter's moderation -- if you run into trouble -- is not as effective.

I think they’re not interesting, I think they’re a huge distraction and divert the group into another topic. If you get too carried away, at least make a new thread.

Good for you. Avoid the trouble. The only place I like to go on the General Discussion forum is the TET. I don’t feel safe anywhere else on the General Discussion, though, I post my opinions and argue with people but at least I remind them we’re getting off.

I plan to go back to roleplaying quite soon, which will get them General Generals off my mind, hopefully.

For me when I see a interesting thread I usually just post my opinion do a few replies to other users that quoted me and then just leave with no arguements.

I do that with my own threads XD to be fair.

TET is the friendliest place in NSG, but I wouldn't term the rest of NSG "unsafe". It does get noisy around this time of year, but the beaches always get crowded in summer.

The trick is to find a nice, shady spot to park your beach umbrella.

It’s a good thing to respond casually. I do that because I’m too lazy to fight. But y’know, sometimes the other person becomes angry and turns the whole thing into a fight. I’d try to remain chill and also tell them to chill, but then they’d tell me to chill.

But yes, NSG isn’t itself when it’s peaceful. I think the fights add a little culture.

Perhaps one day I’ll just write issues instead of taking part in them. I have been considering... but I don’t live up to the name.

Did your friend say anything about the sermon? And did it sound ‘too harsh,’ as if [they] must ’all go’?

The only time I did argue with someone was about global warming and that was back when I believed it was fake. But after doing some research I found out the Church was against it and helps the planet to prevent from it. So that changed my mind and now I'm against global warming.

You mean the format? Just take the wiki format, or borrow whatever branches of the nation it discusses. Try to compress the ideas into one overview depending on subject. For instance, in my past 2 years on NS, I have learnt that it takes up factbook space to divide all your military assets in their own factbooks instead of merging them all.

I have a lot of factbooks yet to do, I better stop lazing around. :P
