My accounting course has started with the professor disappointed at the entire class for not having the first assignment turned in on its due date (the second day of class) and while I'm acing my homework I'm shit under pressure and got a 70 on my quiz.

It's not too bad on my grade, I've got a 93 overall though - that 70 hit the three 100s hard. Need to get better under pressure because I know the material - I should be able to ace the quiz.

I remember my accounting professor very clearly. He physically looked like a literal personification of a Business Manager. No kidding. If I directed a movie and wanted a corporate fat cat/old school manager with glasses and he auditioned... he’d have the looks

He went super fast on the materials.

Then he gave us “feedback forms” for us to review the course and his teaching and he seemed to view it as a bureaucratic nuisance. “I know you’re all going to say I’m going too fast but there’s nothing I can do about it.”

Next class... “yup. Again nothing in the forms surprised me. Now let’s carry on.”

Quizzes were always very intimidating for that class too

It’s going well

But now I’m having partially sleepless nights/nightmares over the next lesson blowing up or the next group of kids starting a “revolution.” Probably a bit of paranoia on my part since it hasn’t happened ever since I implemented the new classroom control act.

As a cover teacher during the probation period and running across many centers, it’s almost always a new situation/dynamic every time.

However, in the following weeks they’ve stepped things up by giving me several weeks coverage of the same students

Overall I think it’s a much better job then my previous ones. Mostly because of the friendliness of the colleagues and a decent focus on work life balance which is truly rare in this country (it’s a great contrast to the more sink or swim model I’ve unfirtunately had to deal with in the past)

It is a 5 days a week gig even though your 2 off days aren’t fixed to specific days and you never have them back to back
