I assuming your commenting on the question I asked. I don't know if I am a megalomaniac but I just found the whole matter hilarious. Also its been 7 years since that event happened and I proudly say I haven't laughed in such event after that.

I don't think I've heard any, but I've been found of NC folklore and legends. While in Asheville I lived - unknowingly until I walked under it one day - two miles from Helen's Bridge. Was walking with a friend and she said I was stupid when I said I felt a chill pass over me when walking under the bridge.

It was most likely just knowing the legend of the bridge and knowing what happened there being sad and chilling - less so about believing Helen is still wandering around there.

You guys have some nice spooky ones, yes. Like the one about the patch of grass that won’t grow. It’s apparently deemed a place where Satan walks. Which is why vegetation doesn’t grow in that patch.

See, I know I don't believe that story in the slightest but will you catch me visiting that place? Absolutely not.

The story of Helen's Bridge details that the bridge was built in 1909 to access a nearby mansion (the bridge was not named, of course, that would be like naming your driveway). Helen lived in or near the mansion, and her daughter died in a fire at the mansion or in a house near the mansion. Either way, Helen, distraught, hangs herself from the bridge - hence the name.

I, at least, believe that part of the story. It's 100% plausible and makes logical sense. The legend continues, and I'm not sure I believe it but it sure made for a spooky and uncomfortable feeling when I personally walked under the bridge. The legend continues by saying that Helen's spirit still comes upon travelers near the bridge to ask if they've seen her daughter. Also, if you park your car under the bridge - day or night - and call her name, allegedly she'll appear. People have also reported that their cars allegedly would not start when they went to leave after calling on her.

Oh it's definitely enjoyable to read legends - less enjoyable at night. Especially if there's an element of unexplained/inexplicable mystery to it. Quite enjoy watching Buzzfeed Unsolved as well.
