F7's a pretty random place.

I only poke my head in there nowadays for the rating music thread. Which only really tells me that about half of people have no taste in music, and the other half have great taste in bands I've never heard of.

Good news! He's only planning on killing one person (sorry about that, Farn!), so he's not really a serial killer. Erm... it's not too bad... :?

I remember that! You rated one of my songs once! It got a 2/10, I think.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Very likely. I've been posting in that thread since 2017, probably longer but I suppose the first rate song thread has vanished into the ether, and I have no memory at this point of who I've rated and what songs I've posted.

Probability is actually a sentient thing, and it's a dick.

Eh. The only reason I remember is because it’s one of the 4 songs I’ve posted in there.

I believe it's what's known as "Sod's Law".

EDIT: Or "Murphy's Law", to use what I believe is the American translation.

Well hot diggity dick, my spare is also flat and off its bearing, and I don't have the tools to pop it back into place. So I had to leave my car in a gas station parking lot while my dad picked me up...

Well that law certainly played its part. On top of the tire situation, I have to work Saturday for a 7 hour shift so that I can get a 4 day Memorial day weekend off. It was either that or I could work six 12-hour shifts from 5pm-5am...I mean I like extra money, but I'm not willing to kill myself for it...

Oh and they're expecting us to work our arses off everyday with no time to take a drink or go to the bathroom except for the alloted break times. And to prove it they're gonna send someone to literally breathe down our necks. And if we don't meet their expectations, we're at risk of getting replaced...

And we call ourselves a "Christian company"

Possibly tip-toeing the line of TET as a non-political zone here, but oh for the days when a large faction of "conservatives" advocated for those with privileged social positions to act with gratitude, responsibility and fairness towards those lower in the social order rather than using their position to squeeze out every drop of surplus value for themselves.

It's very sad that in many places the faction who are essentially economic liberals with a side-dish of dislike for everyone different from themselves are in a position of dominance to the point that "conservatism" is at risk of becoming synonymous with this relatively novel fusionism. Such is the hollowing-out of ideology under the pressures of capitalist hypercompetition, I suppose.

Come on, guys, cut that out! Every time we talk about corporate dystopia on NationStates, Max Barry wins.

This is the natural consequence of "with us or against us" politics. I'd say more on the subject, but I don't want to start a debate.

Look, we already are the people entering the wastelands expecting a fair fight, equipped with blades, spears and shields, only to be greeted by carpet bombing.
