That's true. Parents these days aren't willing to do anything that may "mess up" their kids.

That's blatantly untrue, there are plenty negligent parents out in the world.

I think that's the implication; that the parents who aren't willing to do anything that may "mess up" their kids, as it were, are the negligent ones.

I'd argue that a lot of the involvement parents should have in their kids should involve boundaries and rules and the like; it shouldn't involve corporal punishment.

Hell, there's also the free range parents; not entirely sold on the method, but the idea of allowing kids to understand, on their own terms, how to act within a public space seems like a good idea in general.

The West won the world not by the superiority of its ideas or values or religion … but rather by its superiority in applying organized violence. Westerners often forget this fact; non-Westerners never do.

I hereby propose the following definition for "Responsibilty": a portmanteau of "Responsibility" and "Guilty", as in where one (namely the RBA) takes responsibility out of feeling guilty for their mistakes.

I think I nailed it.

Collectivism, capitalism, authority, and individuality all do not function in a vacuum, or at least not on a large enough scale to be worth basing an ideology around, and they must all be tempered by the opposing force. (Not a centrist, by the way, but they do raise good points, and they're probably the most sane and level headed ideology - and yes, mine is no exception.)

There's literally no way to pronounce "responsibilty" that doesn't sound like you're just slurring "responsibility".

I hate those wrapping covers you get with hardcover books. Annoying. I always take those wrappers off and use the pics for decor or DIY projects.
