My friends and acquaintances, tragic, heartbreaking news: after frantically queueing and querying from no less than five KFC branches, the KFC Double Down has been... phased out. Phased out, in fact, since April 30.

I... I didn't --

There are things that cannot be allowed to continue to exist, things that absolutely have to be erased permanently. The KFC Double Down was very much such a thing.

The basic idea of a sandwich is that the edible contraption contains bread. This KFC product was called a sandwich, yet it contained not even a single slice of bread, despite it being a strict rule for bread to be a prominent ingredient of any sandwich that is worthy of the name. So it's not a matter of hate, but of acknowledging that the Double Down was a lie from the very beginning.

The culinary controversy you were so fond of was marketed as such by the dark entities behind KFC. I get my information straight from the source.

And it's not, but who cares? Marketing dross may obscure the gloss beneath, but make no mistake -- sandwich or not, its fleeting presence I welcome, and its return back to the void I mourn. Exceedingly.

Cinderella -- "rerelease with shiny new packaging in a few years" -- Disney vault, or Song of the South -- "bury it and hope to God everyone forgets we made it" -- Disney vault?

Yep. It'd be fine if I just sounded boyish, but nope. I do get to see a fun look on people's faces when I'm doing calls for work and someone comes in later asking for Mr. Heloin.

Characters featured in Song of the South gained such popularity in the Netherlands, Dutch artists have been making comics about Broer Konijn and associates since the 1970s.
